  1. Finding those albums on vinyl isn't all that hard and much cheaper....(of course they may be a bit beat from being played at crazy parties in the 60s....) LouieB
  2. Yep, the one with "the finger." LouieB
  3. I think it would be a bit quicker this time....nuke Oklahoma....(just kidding of course....) LouieB
  4. I found it humorous that Lester Bangs hated John Prine*. I wonder if he had lived if he would have come around. *see "Let it Blurt". LouieB
  5. I found the Big Pink book entertaining too....no masterpiece however. LouieB
  6. These are a couple of the best books ever written about music. LouieB
  7. Okay I will tell you...its a hoax. I long for the old days when Converse was made in the USA and they weren't hip. LouieB
  8. A fun place to increase your record collection is the CHRIP Record Sale this Saturday and Sunday. If you stop by I am selling records with a friend. Stop by and say hello. There will be some DJs and bands at this event and it is a nice way to support CHIRP, which is only online and trying to get an actual station going. There will be lots of record dealers as well as labels and craft stuff. Also the venue has a parking lot, which is very convenient. LouieB
  9. Really nice article. LouieB
  10. Somehow I managed to find a vinyl copy of the music, which was amazing considering very little was released on vinyl at the point this show was released. LouieB
  11. I have relatives in Albany. Hmmm. LouieB
  12. Hey Todd...bring the kid to the CHRIP record sale this weekend. There will be all kinds of stuff to buy. Actually that goes for everyone.... LouieB
  13. Hell I would rather just see Kelly.....but they are coming to Chicago and I may check them out. LouieB
  14. I didn't read the post, but it seems improbable. I suppose if you put it on really thick and then peel it of, maybe, otherwise you are stuck with a bunch of glue in the grooves. I also remember the idea of putting an LP in the oven between two peices of glass to straighten a warp. I don't know about that either. For all the bad karma people have regarding CDs, they play perfectly 99% of the time, even with slight scratches. I am certainly not a hater of CDs (in fact I am listening to a great one right this minute.....) LouieB
  15. When those were issued Wilco didn't have nearly the clout it has now. At this point they get to have some quality control over their product. LouieB
  16. Nice....Bert is definitely a legend and rarely performs in the US....maybe not even in the UK. He is one of the all time great guitarists and not young either. Don't miss him for sure, particularly at those prices. LouieB
  17. Well his last album was better than his previous couple Wallflower albums....I think we can all agree about that. Meanwhile Neko is an artist on her way up (Middle Cyclone is quite a good album even compared to Fox Confessor) whereas Jakob is more or less treading water. But hey, he has a famous dad; if he were anyone else he might not even have a record contract at this point. LouieB
  18. Jakob is making the rounds of producers I guess. Last time out was Rick Rubin as I recall....next time...Joe Henry?? Trying to save his career.... LouieB
  19. This could be interesting. Certainly a shot of Neko and Kelly ain't bad. His last album was decent, but unexciting. LouieB
  20. It gives the conservatives a chance to catch up with the left. We have been eating our own for years. LouieB
  21. Whoa good for him. I have one, but it sure is not hooked up and never had a wired remote. Beta sure was a nice format. LouieB
  22. Organic? I think not, but I don't shope there with any regularity. They tore one down near my house that was sort of a dump and they are putting up a brand new one in its place. At that point I may become a shopper. LouieB
