Whoever it is that has the flaming typewriter tattoo...I hate you. That's one of my favorite tattoos that makes me go, "Arrrgh! I wanted that!" Flaming typewriters aren't too rare in tattoo land but someone has the actual Wilco poster graphic and that makes me greeeeeen with envy! I've been considering a hummingbird tattoo because then it would have some Wilco significance but I'm more interested in it as it relates to the Henry Miller work that Jeff refers to, "you take to believing in miracles or you stand still like the humming bird." I currently have three tattoos, none of which have

I'm still really happy about that "Heavy Metal Drummer Goth Version."

I only just got around to watching "Shaun of the Dead" this past week. So funny!

How to Fight Loneliness bums me out a bit. Jeff's cover of Crack a Smile (even though the topic is "Most Depressing Wilco Song") is also pretty bummerly but they are both great. I'd much rather hang with music that stirs a little sadness than music that elicits no emotional response at all.

I totally did but I had a smile on my face as I filled the little dot with my clicky love.

You should add the "She's a Jar" rap to this! I'd do it but I'm all unorganized and it'd take forever to find it. Goth Version Heavy Metal Drummer is very cool! I haven't heard it before! This is definitely a much better way to spend our time than all that debating that stuff.

My birthday is in November. If this whole nutty hoopla over "selling out" hasn't blown over by then, can we call it quits as a birthday gift to me? It is getting teh old.

Sunken Treasure DVD for me as well...closely followed by the Conan.

Who's the coolest woman in music history?
yermom replied to the letter k's topic in Someone Else's Song
I don't think Wanda Jackson or Odetta have been mentioned yet? EDIT: Oh yeah, and Loretta Lynn! (D'oh) That Amy Winehouse girl wishes she were as cool as Ronnie Spector. -
This could do more to spoil a song for me than the VW commercials ever could. It plays during the movie?

I never tire of mentioning Eef Barzelay. His disbanded group, Clem Snide, is marginally well-known. He's awesome. The Clem Snide stuff is all good, but I recommend his solo, "Ballad of Bitter Honey" album the most. Eef is my second favorite artist, nipping at the heels of Jeff in first place. One of my college instructors lives in their old house near Yellville, Arkansas. I'm practically famous.

13/45 I feel like such a douche for not realizing what #44 was. Which one?

I was pretty psyched about this but I may be feeling let down now...not sure. I've listened to it through a few times while in the car and only a couple of tracks have really stood out for me. Overall, it is pretty sweet...will be good for boozey get-togethers.

"Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston had 4 number one singles on it? It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves. Since it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the alb

As much as I love the entire Ghostbusters franchise (movies, toys, books, The Real Ghostbusters, etc.) up to this point, I'm not as psyched about this as I'd like to be. It's been in the works so long, it feels like it's being kind of forced into becoming. It is very exciting to see that Bill is doing Venkman though. That gives me hope. Yay! Venkman! I wish they would just scrap the whole "Ghostbusters in Hell" thing and do something that works with live action....but then, I guess Murray wouldn't be involved. Animated Venkman is better than no Venkman, I suppose.

We know he has the skills for it! That "She' a Jar" rap version is sweet!

My brother actually lives in that neighborhood. When I asked my bro about it, he was surprised to learn that someone "famous" lives there but he said that he thought the house had seemed "out of place."
