I am enjoying this one quite a bit. "You Tell Me Where" is a blast. Helluva closer...

Today I received an email reminder about my tickets to the upcoming wilco concert NEXT WEDNESDAY in Columbus. It was quite possibly the best part of my day. Words cannot describe how much I need a wilco concert.

I liked the new guy. Not my favorite episode, but I think he'll be a good one.

Other than one live show in June, I'm waiting for the record. Lousy at diets, btw.

If it's covers, I don't really care unless it's really distracting. If it looks like you're reading a book while you're singing, yeah that's distracting. If it's your own material, then I expect you to know the words since it's supposedly something meaningful / emotional, etc. For the record - If you're Bruce Springsteen and you have a zillion songs and play different songs every set and you're 64 years old and still play for 3 hours... then you get a pass in my book and you can do whatever the hell you want as long as you show up within a couple hours of my house every so often. Bahamas (Alfie Jurvanen) was announced as the opener for Wilco for the 2 Ohio shows. I suppose it was a little overly optimistic to hope for an "evening with" format for their first live full-band shows in ALMOST ONE YEAR. And I think we're about to the point where there won't be any more shows announced to go along with these. There's only a tiny little window of time from the end of Aug till mid Sept when everybody in the band is free. Maybe they'll squeeze in another show or two, but it seems it's getting kinda late. So, I anxiously await Columbus... less than 3 weeks away!

I remember that each of the guys got a personalized Louisville Slugger when they played Slugger field in Louisville a few years ago. Glen used two of them for his rock star pose before ITMWLY. They all seemed pretty stoked about it. Never saw this pic before. Nice!

re: Columbus. pre-sales for "normal" size GA shows definitely don't have that same adrenalin buzz as reserved seating shows....

Saw Beck at the LC in Colombus last month. Great little venue! Very psyched for this!!

I saw Tweedy live, and watched the Late Night clip. But I gotta say, it just makes me long for the album where Jeff plays all the guitars. I've refrained from listening to the one-off songs so that I can hear the whole album when it comes out. And the live versions just make me want to hear Jeff's take on all that guitar work. These guys are fine, but... It's gonna be a long couple of months for me.

I am not a fan of soccer whatsoever. I happened to flip on the USA game last night just to check the score, and ended up watching the last 20 minutes or so. I have to admit it was interesting and enjoyable to watch. But I have now officially checked the box on "watch some soccer for 2014", so I doubt I'll watch more. But hey, go USA! Everybody loves a winner.

Never seems to be many folks posting after the Louisville shows I go to... odd. Highlights for me for last night's show - Seeing a few VC'ers and saying hello - nice to see you all there. Sonicshoulder being "that guy" with Scott.... Mr and Mrs Ditty (thanks for the setlst)... and being in the presence of bbop is always an honor. Pecan Pie. There was a lot more banter in the solo part of the show. Jeff seemed to really relax more in that part of the show and get looser.
