Me either. Plus the British versions were the superior ones in my opinion. The U.S. box set seems kinda redundant except for hardcore completists, or people raised on those versions I suppose. I've already shelled out the money for the mono and stereo box sets, can't really justify getting this one for the 11 tracks that weren't on the U.K. releases. I pretty much have all the original U.S./Canadian and U.K. releases on vinyl, I really shouldn't buy another Beatles release ever. I'm sure I'll get sucked into some new reissue down the road that is done in some "amazing" new format.

Oh so very important. It's amazing how many sounds can be gleaned from a very simple setup. I find just varying pick attack, or using fingers instead, or something as simple as adjusting guitar volume can drastically change the sound and tone. I have a moderate amount of effects in my collection, but generally use no more than 3-4 at any given time. I like the fingers, guitar and amp to have the strongest impact on my sound. I really should sell a few of the effects I have that I never use. I'm like a horder when it comes to them though, always thinking maybe one day I'll need this one or th

Been listening to it this week while jogging. I love his sense of melody and songcraft. I was thinking today, other than Badfinger, Emitt was probably the best at keeping the Beatles "pop" aesthetic going in the early '70s. I hear a bit of a Harry Nilsson influence in his music too. NP:

Agreed. He really does a good job of not just telling the stories behind the songs, but also the significant historical happenings that surrounded and maybe influenced some of the music/lyrics. Not all musicians make good writers, thankfully this isn't the case here. Must say I'm quite impressed with Bill "the writer."

But who or what created "God"? Or are we to believe that God just appeared out of the nothingness? Is that easier to believe than the big bang miraculously happening? Either way you look at it, something is coming from nothing at some point down the line...

As a musician I'd be looking to be inspired--and steal some ideas--so I'd want to go to the sessions for songs that had interesting production and arrangements going on. Probably something along the lines of: Strawberry Fields Forever I Am the Walrus A Day in the Life Tomorrow Never Knows Paperback Writer

I have this on vinyl. Even at LP size the image is so small that it really could be anything or nothing. I guess I should take a magnifier to it sometime.
