I did a rip of this CD a few years back in FLAC, along with scans of all the artwork for some friends. Pretty sure I still have it on a harddrive. Could set up a private torrent in uTorrent so you could download it from me if you'd like Louie.

Now these covers are truly some of the worst (and fantastic) ever: http://stevecarter.com/albumcovers.htm

My understanding of how REM worked is that the band--Buck, Mills (and Berry)--came up with the music and Stipe came up with the lyrics and melody. As far as I know Stipe never wrote both the music & lyrics for any of their songs so he wouldn't deserve sole credit on anything they did.

There's still a few stores online that sell analog tape for 24-track machines. I believe ATR Magnetics still manufactures various analog tape types. So it's totally possible that Wilco are still recording to analog. Found a picture of their Studer 24-track:

I can't believe "Real Gone" came out 7 years ago, felt more like 3 or 4. Excited to hear the new one.

Nick's "Brentford Trilogy" which consists of 3 records: Impossible Bird, Dig My Mood, and The Convincer is definitely worth getting. For older Nick stuff, check out his early '70s band Brinsley Schwarz. They released some great records, I'd recommend starting with: The New Favourites of Brinsley Schwarz and Nervous on the Road.

Here's some of my most recent blues purchases: Robert Wilkins - The Original Rolling Stone Great early acoustic blues. The Rolling Stones pretty much ripped off "That's No Way to Get Along" in "Prodigal Son." Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown - Bogaloosa Boogie Man Picked up the reissue of this recently, forgot how great this record is. Not strictly a blues record, but if your tastes run eclectic this one is a must have. Otis Rush - Right Place, Wrong Time Solid from start to finish.

Wow, sounds like an amazing afternoon. -
Great job with the interview Todd. This doesn't sound like it was a live interaction. If it was, the interviewer isn't all that good .

As you know I'm a huge Sly fan, so I'll be checking this out. Nonetheless, it's a big disappointment to see that there's only 3 new songs and a bunch of reworked classics which is kinda lame. I've read interviews and articles that said he has written and recorded a bunch of new stuff over the years, and this is the best we get? tracklisting for anyone curious is: 1. "Dance To The Music" (ft. Ray Manzarek) 2. "Everyday People" (ft. Ann Wilson) 3. "Family Affair" 4. "Stand!" (ft. Carmine Appice & Ernie Watts) 5. "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" (ft. Johnny Winter) 6. "(I Wa

Yeah, Louie is such a great show. One of the funniest and most honest shows I've seen in ages. I've been enjoying Wilfred too, like the absurdness and it does have some funny moments. As far as F/X shows go though, I would have to rank "Louie," and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" higher for me than this show. I downloaded the original Aussie version of "Wilfred" a few weeks back, might watch that soon to see how it compares.

Great setlist, looks very tempting. A lof of the Montreux releases are CD and DVD, that would be awesome.

They sure know how to reel us in from the get-go. Last season ended dramitically so I knew things were going to be tense. That Gus is one cold mofo...
