  1. I was wondering how he was going to manage when it got to the finger-tapping part. He did alright, but that was probably the only part that faltered a bit. Watching that reminded of my early days as a budding guitarist trying to play this one. I think just about everyone of a certain age who plays electric guitar has tried playing part of this at one point or another. Almost as ubiquitous as Smoke on the Water.
  2. Yeah, the original was pretty awesome. Charlie and Dennis performing at the bar, priceless! One of the extras on the Season 4 DVD is The Gang performing the entire "The Nightman Cometh" episode on stage at The Troubadour in L.A. Definitely worth watching if you're a fan, some funny moments.
  3. Agreed. I'd put it higher than CFMT which made the list. I'd actually put 49:00 above CFMT too.
  4. Nothing at all, I quite like that one. So many great songs: Dance Me to the End of Love, Hallelujah, Heart with No Companion... It would be next on my list along with Death of a Ladies Man, The Future and Recent Songs.
  5. Nice! One of my all-time favorites.

  7. That's pretty sad that not one DBT record made the list. They must have something against the band, because lord knows they should easily have 3 or 4 on there.
  8. That, and Songs of Leonard Cohen, Songs from a Room, Songs of Love and Hate, and I'm Your Man. Can't go wrong with any of those.
  9. You have a good start with those 3. Here's a few more: Richard and Linda Thompson - Shoot Out The Lights Marvin Gaye - Here, My Dear Bruce Springsteen - Tunnel of Love Mendoza Line - 30 Year Low
  10. Here's just a few of the albums from 1974: On the Beach - Neil Young Natty Dread - Bob Marley Court and Spark - Joni Mitchell Good Old Boys - Randy Newman Grievous Angel - Gram Parsons Pussy Cats - Harry Nilsson The Heart of Saturday Night - Tom Waits I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight - Richard and Linda Thompson The Hoople - Mott the Hoople Late for the Sky - Jackson Browne The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - Genesis Wish You Were Here - Badfinger Up for the Down Stroke - Parliament Veedon Fleece - Van Morrison Standing on the Verge of Getting It On - Funkadelic Second Helping - Lynyrd S
  11. You definitely need to get your hands on the DVDs of the previous seasons. Danny doesn't appear until Season 2, nevertheless Season 1 is still very funny. By Seasons 3 & 4 they really hit their stride, pushing things even further down a dark and twisted path.
  12. I liked the other thread better, it was in mono.
  13. Yeah, we'd have technology--that sucks the life out of music--ruining a perfectly good song . The Beatles did more with their 4 & 8 track machines than all these auto-tuned 96-track ProTools people ever will.
  14. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd
  15. ^^ watched that a few months back . NW: Almost through the 1st Season.
  16. Paul Westerberg - PW & The Ghost Gloves Cat Wing Joy Boys
  17. Ry Cooder played the slide guitar parts, but all the fast picked parts--clean and distorted--were played by Vai. It's kinda funny listening to it now, his overly effected tone and excessive use of the whammy bar and pinched harmonics make this seem painfully dated. The stuff done with the clean guitar still sounds okay at least.
  18. The logo on the pickguard is oh so tacky. That alone would send me running.
