  1. YES! I passed up Andrew tickets this time, but see you Saturday!
  2. I have tickets to see Andrew three times between now and October, but that would be a fun show. Damn. I have tickets for the Fleet Foxes late show after Lolla - same night as Jeff solo. I'm hoping to make it, but I guess we'll see.
  3. I'd just like to say that the user interface for Front Gate ticketing (and how it interacts with the Wilcoworld shows page) is horrible. There's no way to go back to the Front Gate general Wilco presale page once you've clicked on a show - you have to go back to the Wilcoworld shows page. And it logs you out after any transaction - even if you just toss back tickets! So there's no simple way to buy tickets for more than one show at once. If there is, I haven't found it. In addition, $8.50 for the cheapest shipping option through them is a crime. That said, in the limited number of

Not e-Bay! I think someone can probably help you out.
  5. It would be fun to see Carla open again, and maybe she and Evangelista will at some point ... but I do think this young lady is onto something. I saw Liam open for Crowded House, but he only played a few songs, and I missed him when he played another show in Milwaukee a year or two ago. I'm hoping I get the opportunity to make up for that.
  6. What makes you think I'm not just using my powers of deductive reasoning?
  7. I feel pretty confident saying there will be an opener.
  8. "Singer/songwriter Jeff Tweedy and bassist John Stirratt (a.k.a, the two remaining founding members) will chat with Outlaw Country host Meredith Ochs. Expect a lot of chatter about the creation of their latest release, “Wilco (The Album).” The band also premiers Tweedy’s new duet with Roseanne Cash, “Long Black Veil,” from her upcoming album “The List.”" Do they ever archive these things anywhere?
  9. I remember reading something a long time ago where Jeff compared Summerteeth to somebody "complaining in the middle of a waterfall." I liked that.
  10. Ha! I was thinking of the same trip, at the same time, for the same reason, though subtract 10 years. But I doubt that'll happen.

So, this discussion is turning into the "Loft GigaPan" of the Tweedy home.
  12. No, Let's Fight is a completely different song.
  13. I don't think you're reading that quite the way I meant it. I've only missed one full-band performance of "I'll Fight." They haven't played it very much; that's a total of four shows. Mostly luck (and maybe a well-placed request once.) They might have played it in MN last night; I haven't seen any reports from that show.
  14. Friday, October 2nd. Roy Wilkins Auditorium, St. Paul.
  15. You know, I had a vague memory of that. Thanks for the reminder! But it wasn't previously as much of a "competition" as alternating solos culminating in a jam, right? It would be fun to see the current faceoff extended to Jeff. As important a role as he plays now, standing back and being entertained, I think the audience could cover that. (I don't blame him for wanting to observe the spectacle, though. It's not something the frontman gets to do too much during a typical concert.)
  16. During the show Jeff called Pat's attention to one of his (Jeff's) own guitar moves. I think Jeff should join the Hoodoo Voodoo guitar battle.
  17. I would have paid you good money to do that. As you know.
  18. Ha. Yeah, in retrospect I'm kind of sorry I didn't go up, but I sort of froze in the headlights. But if I'd been up there I wouldn't have been able to watch you guys kick ass! It was a fantastic show. I'm sure I'll have more to say later.
  19. I was so excited when they started that! So far I've been very lucky with that song. I think Tenerife is the only full-band outing I've missed. (Talk about unsustainable.)
  20. Look for a couple of other drummers appearing on this too.
  21. But do staying afloat and not letting glaring errors make it to print need to be mutually exclusive? And, for what it's worth, at least two poorly edited articles. I also skimmed a review of "Rattle and Hum" and learned that U2's drummer is named Larry "Mullin."
  22. He is; the interview was posted in the reviews thread awhile ago and is available online. I looked at the print version the other day at a book store, and was appalled by the editing. More specifically, the lack thereof. This is admittedly one of my pet peeves, but how can a magazine call itself legitimate and publish something like this? As a pull quote, no less? You're muscles? Really? ARE YOU? Not to mention the fact that throughout the entire article they refer to Nels as Nils. Multiple mentions. Some by Jeff. I really try not to be insufferable about this, but it makes me
