2010 NW US/Trans Canada tour announcement coming soon

I'm disappointed that there's no PEI date on this list. Green Gables has expansive grounds that could easily accommodate a concert. -
The official Wilco site always has great pics (often taken by VC's very own Charles Harris, or by Zoran Orlic), though the format of the photo section seems to change frequently. It looks like now there's a small collection from Cincinnati back in June. I've taken pictures at some shows. Nothing professional, needless to say, but you can see them here. Flickr is a good resource in general. Sounds like you had in mind the posting of actual photos here, though, not just links. I'm not sure we'd need an entire forum for that, but feel free to go nuts in this thread.

Mine too! In Beatles Rock Band. Ah, Fire In Your Belly! Nice. So he wasn't rocking the cardigan again during the Wilco set?

Oh, nice to see EJ stepping in with a guest role! Seems like the YNK/CA Stars combo is here to stay for this leg of the tour? On a related note, they broke up the Hate it Here/Walken pair?! Nice setlist, with lots of songs ... I guess that's a side effect of not playing Spiders. Good to see "I'll Fight." I just know "Country Disappeared" is coming soon. Maybe Memphis? Fingers crossed. I wish I'd known it back at Bridge School last year. It must have been nice not to have that VIP pit in front at Grinders. Hopefully it was a little less wet than last time, too.

When trying to edit my sig, even if I make absolutely no changes from what I have now and click Okay, I get this error message: [#10211] You may only use up to urls in your signature. You may only use up to lines of text in your signature. Any ideas what's wrong, and how to fix it?

It was in a Wilcoworld update email that he was scheduled to do that yesterday afternoon. He brought the Brewers luck, I see. Not that it mattered at all.

Agreed, that was great! I loved the back and forth between Nels and the other guitar player (Pat Donohue?) I didn't grow up listening to PHC, but I did grow up in Wisconsin. Close enough. It was so interesting to see the show unfold live. I had no idea that Keillor doesn't read the Lake Wobegone tales - that's all done with no script. Thanks again to Rob for the seat swap. Grapes of poop!

Before Cars, Jeff did mention that it was one of the most requested songs, so they'd play it ... but that didn't mean they were going to like it. Ha. Casino Queen was great, and Sonny Feeling always makes me happy. I think Jeff should have followed through on his threat (on the heels of Jesus, Etc.) to let the audience sing lead on Sonny too. Jeff seems to have a new guitar - or, at least, I'd never seen it before. It replaced the gold top for Wilco (the song). When I found out that he and EJ were playing a full show in Madison on Sunday, I just about exploded with glee.

Glenn's gong saw a lot of action! And Liam is amazing. Great night.

Not to mention Ultra Violet!! Well, the TV audience didn't get to see the whole thing.

I agree with many of your observations there, Rebecca. A CD fairy in NZ sent the double version to me a few weeks ago, so I've had a lot of time with it. Here are some songs you didn't mention, or differing opinions. Little By Little - I like it! It's so catchy. And it's sweet. Seeing Neil sing the entire lead in L.A. was fun, but I wish I'd known the song first for comparison. Girl Make Your Own Mind Up - I don't think it's a bad song, but wow, it goes on for a loooong time with the same words. Learn to Crawl - Love it Red Wine Bottle - gets stuck in my head (which is not a bad

Interesting take on Oprah. I see where you're coming from, and haven't watched more than a handful of Oprah shows, ever. But I think she represents something, for a lot of people, independent of whatever is actually on her show or magazine or whatever. Aaaand this isn't really a thread about Oprah. I know nothing about Mackenzie Phillips, but it seems like a distinction should be made between her and other people who've had terrible things happen to them who don't feel the need to tell their entire stories to the world. For whatever reason, she can tell the world. If any of that had ha

In general?

If everyone worked a little harder, this could become art.

Hi Black Witcher! Welcome to Via Chicago. It sounds like you're interested in the Gin Blossoms - I checked to see if there's a b-side collection out there. I didn't find anything, but seems like some b-sides and rarer songs are available on soundtracks at least. See this for more info: http://www.users.on.net/~ord/gin_blossoms_guitar_archive/index.html#bsides Hope that helps!!

http://wilcoworld.net/shows/request.php For future reference - go to the Shows page, click on the Info (or Sold Out) link for the show you're attending, and click on "Requests." There's a spot to explain why you're requesting the song. Good luck with your stepdaughter.

I also went Saturday, and had a great time. I wish I were seeing them again (and this time perhaps I'd go for GA) but I'll keep my fingers crossed for more dates next year.

I have that UF documentary on videotape. I love it - can't wait for the remaster. I have three of them, I think, but I can't remember which. I wish you were able to make it to Boston, Maggie.

He just wove some lines of the song into the intro to "Beautiful Day." Or maybe just a little bridge between the last song and "Beautiful Day." The band wasn't playing the song, exactly, any more than they're playing "Blackbird" when Bono sings some lines from "Blackbird," etc. And as the original poster pointed out, it wasn't even remotely the melody of "Far, Far Away." Bono sang the first two lines (between them he sang something else) and then maybe another line ... finishing up with "Kiss and ride on the CTA."

Yeah. "WOOO CHICAGO REFERENCE!!!" It was a really fun moment, though, when the realization hit.

The Breakfast Club or Schindler's List??
-
They certainly do, and how timely of you to ask, LouisvilleGreg. (See 9/16.) I'm seeing them a week from today. http://www.prontosphere.com/shows/

Maybe it's time to get a preamp and speakers so I can use my turntable.

Oh, ugh. Never mind. I didn't know it was a "thing." I take it back. Hating lolcats en masse is nearly as bad as loving them.
