  1. This thread is so not about Wilco anymore. That being said, I'd be willing to connect with people based on mutual hatred for lolcats.
  2. I got that from this here board, Umm section, actually. I don't know if it originated here or somewhere else. But APE = a pervy euphemism. NAPE = not ... I do like A Porcupine Enraged. Well, no, I don't. You know.
  3. I realize this is way too easy, but ... APE?
  4. In misheard lyric guy's defense, the lyrics for BAITUSA aren't available anywhere. I'm not quite sure how you'd hear that, but it wouldn't have been the easiest thing to check.
  5. I would like to read the 14-verse letter version of I'll Fight.
  6. They'll do that one last. Or maybe first.
  7. No problem, now that I officially logged my complaint. "Furr" is my favorite Blitzen Trapper song; I'll bet that was great live. Granted, I know about three Blitzen Trapper songs. Your account of this show makes me miss Otto's. Is Vicar Street that small? Can't be, right?
  8. Thanks for editing your initial post after mine and making me look like I can't read, P! Gosh, I miss small GA venues.
  9. I have a thousand spiders living in my garage and basement. I'm cool with that. If I see them in the actual living areas, they're gone. Those are my rules; they need to learn.
  10. I finally missed one! What a great and surprising second encore. And what was Janet Weiss doing there?
  11. Yes, it was. Even a bit of performance art. Thanks for posting this, Kyle. I hope we see some dates announced this winter.
  12. I'm holding out for the physical article, and don't want to pay for it twice ... so I haven't heard the full album yet. I did see some songs live in California a week ago, though, and I have the Auckland Night 3 recording. I heard the full "What Could Have Been" back in April, but that doesn't help much now. I enjoyed reading your thoughts about the album, though - hopefully more people will chime in after the official releases in various countries. Pat Sansone and John Stirratt sing harmonies on a lot of Wilco songs, but the only Wilco song on which Jeff doesn't sing lead is John's "It's
  13. Very brief review from the Evening Standard here. It did teach me a new word.
  14. Just saw this. It's not just on the soundtrack ... it inspired the movie, you guys. http://www.mysanantonio.com/entertainment/54863222.html
  15. "When You Wake Up Feeling Old?" Not that he should be feeling old. But birthdays can have that effect.
  16. I sent Rob an email detailing all the shows he was missing about a month ago, with setlists. I think he's planning to update when he gets the time.
  17. “Jay was a really amazing musician and he really helped Wilco to grow as a band during the years he was with us. It was a tragic, sad end.” Irish Times article
  18. I wish. We were in prime photo position, but cameras (and other electronic devices) are strictly forbidden at Largo.
  19. I saw the 7 Worlds Collide show in Los Angeles on Sunday. It was a loose, fun evening: Neil, Elroy, KT, Bic, Lisa Germano, and Jon Brion jumping from instrument to instrument and playing a nice selection of songs from the upcoming album (plus a few others.) Last night's Neil solo show (with Jon and Elroy) included another familiar face during one song. Jon has been experimenting with video during his shows, syncing up and looping clips to accompany some of the music on stage. "Private Universe" on Monday featured videos of Nels Cline and Eric Clapton.
  20. The right price is face value. Scalping is not allowed on Via Chicago.
  21. So this is a thread about Wilco? Really? Really?
