  1. Yes, thanks! I figured we probably wouldn't hear about these shows. Also ... clapping along to which song, pray tell?
  2. Thanks so much for the report and photos! I wish so much I could have magically been in London for this show. Sorry to hear about the ticket fiasco - I would not have done well in that situation! I saw your picture of the setlist - who sang lead on You Never Know?
  3. Calm down. And if you want to know how many people were there, try reading this thread.
  4. Is everyone just ignoring the fact that High Road says Liam Finn for all of the shows except Chicago?
  5. The song he played at Martyr's in '03 was not this Golden Smog song. It was another song, maybe not even formally titled; a snippet of something he'd found on a tape from the Anodyne era. At least I think that's was he said at the show. Aside from Golden Smog, I don't know if that song had ever been played during a show before.
  6. It was a pretty unique show experience! Thanks for the setlist as usual, P. Susan did come out before the show to take requests from folks in line, which was very nice. I didn't request it, but I think one of my favorite songs of the night was "So Much Wine." It's a gorgeous song to begin with, but Jeff does it so well. So thanks to whomever asked for that one. I just got home, so I need to crash. (We managed to make it to Fleet Foxes afterward. Even caught Dungen's last two songs!) I look forward to more people chiming in.
  7. That's especially odd because just yesterday Nonesuch put this out: http://nonesuch.com/journal/wilco-tops-adult-rock-chart-nonesuch-to-reissue-first-three-albums-on-vinyl-2009-08-06 "With the spotlight shining on Wilco's catalog, Nonesuch is very happy to announce the first-ever vinyl reissue of the band's first three albums: A.M., Being There, and Summerteeth. Starting with the release of the most recent of the three, 1999's Summerteeth, on August 25, the records will be released one per month, next heading back to the beginning, with 1995's A.M., out on September 29, and finishing with
  8. Looks like you'll get a chance soon. Wilco's Jorgensen sets solo release
  9. This will be nothing like services at my church! Unless you count communion wafers and wine. Looking forward to it.
  10. Yeah, he'd be thrilled with your compliance in that matter!
  11. Yes. As I understand it, this was basically a Chris+Mike tune that Jeff and Glenn later came in to lay down some vocals and drums for.
  12. As was pointed out to me, it's also 15 years to the day after Wilco played its first official show.
  13. Yes, thanks so much! I cracked up at the Liam: (Unprintable) bit. I can imagine.
  14. I saw the move tonight in IMAX 3D! I agree with almost all the points made in this thread about things that bothered them about the movie/things that were left out ... but I still loved the movie. I thought it was great, and actually might have been the most cohesive story in movie form so far. (Maybe after the first one.) IMAX 3D makes everything about 75% cooler. Holy crap. I was a little surprised, though, that after the first fifteen minutes or so, that was it. No more 3D the rest of the film. Not even for Quidditch!
  15. Oh, I thought it was funny too, because I know how people feel about it around here. Well played.
  16. I've said it before (I think) but I don't understand the vehement hate for Shake it Off. I realize some people find the song annoying (I don't), but do you guys truly think the lyrics are bad? I think they're great. I'm not saying it's a better song than IATTBYH. I'm just saying. I'm standing by my July 16th prediction of Ashes as #1.
  17. I really like Shake It Off.
  18. Yeah, he had a bit of a bad stretch there. John's name too?
  19. Oh god, they're killing me! Edit: moved subsequent posts about the album to the thread about the album.

    Spin

I don't think so ... are you thinking of the band photo? This is one of Jeff, Susan, Spencer, and Sammy. They put 2000 and 2009 versions side by side.
  21. Oh, I can't wait. I'm imagining these songs live. They all need to tour again! (How'd Mikael Jorgensen get on this version of You Never Know?)

    Spin

I found it yesterday at University Book Store. I love that they recreated the family photo from the 2000 issue of Spin.
  23. Same here! And I can see no reason why I shouldn't like it. I don't think it's a bad song.
