Fox Theatre in Detroit: Seat prices (excluding service fees) are: 45, 65, 85, 125, and 175. So IMO, in Detroit anyway, it seems he is employing tiered pricing to thwart scalpers, plus I noticed he is utilizing will-call for the highest price seats. Edit: Doug - that system exists. Tom Waits used it (in conjunction with Ticketmaster) on his tour a few years ago. I saw it in Columbus and all you presented at the door was the credit card you used to purchase the tix and your driver's license. Slick. I have no problems with that concept, even in the event I couldn't make it, that

Tickets here! http://solidsoundfestival.com/ Tix have been on sale for quite a while, and all the single-day passes are sold, and all that's left are the 3-day passes.

Oh, I am so going to this somewhere, somehow. This is one of those rare times I thank my lucky stars on being old and having my mortgage paid off.

... like the guy who asked us if it was okay to build bean bag toss games (like Baggo) but put the name "Wilco" on it, and then sell them here at VC? It was a while ago. Good times.

Yes, I'd like to see that. Here's a link to another thread about this. http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/43326-more-mermaid-avenue/ Bragg mentions Wilco/Jeff in this Sep 2010 Billboard article where he discusses his upcoming album with Rosanne Cash and Joe Henry. I'll quote the Wilco/JT specific paragraphs here:

I just tested, connected perfectly (in both Firefox and IE), and I'm listening to acoustic Spiders from the Lincoln Theatre. So ..... Other than making sure you have a newly-updated Quicktime, I've got nothing. Hopefully someone else will have some more ideas for you. (Edit: After listening in with IE a bit further, twice it stopped playback. But I could get it restarted.) (Edit again: I switched back to Firefox, and it, too, stopped playback. So, yeah. Something's not working perfectly for me, too.)

Hey Spidey - this thread will also explain a lot about how it works for Wilco tickets.

Yay for Dad!!!

Yes sort of. I have no doubt they'll work their way through Michigan supporting the new album.

I guess I caved even though outdoor festivals are not my favorite thing. At all. I'll be hopping from one relatives' house to another (I hope anyway!). So like usual for me, I'll be road-tripping back "home" after the show. Oh well. I'll be lookin' for ya!

Why are people saying there are no more $99 three-day pass tickets? I just bought one this very minute.

Hi Nathan! We have some Wilco-centric travel info gathered in the magnificent "visiting Chicago" thread and I suggest you check out the whole thread if you have time ... it's an amazing city and you can learn some great info from local residents and music-loving travelers as well. Enjoy!

Yeah, that blog has some interesting things IMO. Thanks for sharing it.

For crying out loud, QUIT POSTING HIS FACE THEN! I'm still trying to get Richard Speck's creepy face from 1966 out of my bad dreams!!!

I gotta download that live MP3 before it goes away. I like all of what I (sort of) heard on the live performance, and after hearing a couple of songs off the record, I'm liking this new album a lot.

Not sure what's wrong with the photo URL above (and I apologize if it's just me), but since there's no photo to see, I'll close this thread.

YHF Makes NPR "50 Most Important Records of the Decade" List
Wendy replied to choo-choo-charlie's topic in Just A Fan
Yes. This all sounds vaguely familiar because it is an old news article at NPR. Note the date. http://www.npr.org/2009/11/16/120326033/the-decades-50-most-important-recordings. -
Love the Trolleybus player! Thanks for the head's up for Ver. 2
