  1. Unbelievable... there should be some sort of award for creating something like that.
  2. my favorite lyric in "The Blue" is the one about her body being a wonderland.
  3. I'm sure there will be a movie or something about this guy. I don't recall someone that was so universally disliked. His approval rating, even before the federal charges, was on par or lower than GWB. And the amount of delusion that this guy lived with? Wow.
  4. It really does. I won't try and rank 'em at this point but I'm blown away by how much I like this album. None of these songs would have been out of place on Sirens but for some reason the sum of parts is just better.
  5. That, plus you can see him in small clubs like the Double Door!
  6. Hope it's a great one, Donna. Happy B-day!
  7. I think it gets an unfair rap but it's definitely not one of my favorites.
  8. just unreal...can't get enough of this one.
  9. damn, you're a load of laughs. What movies did you like, genius?
  10. Although probably more minamalistic than most of his stuff, I'm a big fan of his Solo Piano album.
  11. The Dirty South, Decoration Day and Brighter Than Creations Dark are my favorites and, I believe, their most accessible. Southern Rock Opera is great but I don't believe it's the place to start.
  12. That's great news. Congrats to Tom...and Donna!
  13. I think the album is extremely solid and look forward to seeing it live. Masterswarm is up there with some of his best to my ears.
  14. Happy Birthday! Hope you had/have a great one!
  15. Awesome. His tribute songs and Townes covers are great. Look forward to this. Almost shocking that he hasn't done this already.
  16. completely agree on that. The albums really are like night and day. At any rate, I hope he covers a bit of ground from both when I see him live in March. edit: Now Playing - William Elliot Whitmore - Animals in the Dark...
  17. I'm lovin' it. It doesn't kick you in the ass like Black Keys but I really like the sound.
  18. Same... 3rd time today. I really like When the Night Comes
  19. Although Jeff and Jay weren't getting along at the time, this appearance isn't significantly different from Uncle Tupelo's overall live experience. They were a pretty average/slightly above average band to see live. Wilco in every incarnation has been a much better live act in my view.
  20. Had first full spin on the way into work. Great stuff!
