Love that. NP - Golden Smog - Blood on the Tracks

I had quite a few and I didn't even make it past the "Ds" in my library. I'll try and post more later: Money (That's What I Want) - Dave Pirner, Mike Mills, etc. Georgia On My Mind - The Band Not Fade Away - The Band and the Crickets She's About a Mover - The Bottle Rockets Edit: Had to add this Drive-by Truckers version of "Like a Rolling Stone" Like A Rolling Stone - Drive By Truckers

She was absolutely great with her first few albums. Exile in Guyville is classic. She lost me when she started chasing after Avril Lavigne. Oh, and Ctiones is right, she's super hot.

Alec Baldwin leaves a message for his 11 year old daughter

There really is no explanation for that. Totally inexcusable to use swear words and call your child a "pig". I'm sure that he has been put through hell but that doesn't excuse it. -

Wow, that was horrible. I'm a huge fan but there is just no excuse to talk to an 11 year old like that. I'm guessing that was alcohol-induced. -
Wow, that does look good. Believe it or not, the Twangfest in St. Louis looks like a very good time.

I'm planning a trip to New York next month. Are there any online resources similar to the Chicago's Reader that allows you to look at plays, concerts, etc.? Any good touristy sites? This will be the first amount of significant time that I will be in Manhattan in quite some time. We want to do some of the tourist things and we definitely want to see a play or something. We are thinking about "Wicked" but I want to see if there is something better on or off-Broadway. I'm also hoping to catch a concert. I'll take any advice you have...thanks in advance.

I would defintely start with "For What I Don't Become". It was one of my favorite albums of last year. They are a highly underrated band.

I do the same. I generally see bands as they tour to promote a new album. I like to get familiar with the material.

I agree that Saturday's show was pretty good (the host was completely disposable though...). However, the Prince bit was tired. In fact, many of the repeat type of skits weren't funny. I find that many of the repeat skits that they have weren't funny to begin with. Also, Avril Lavigne is cute but wow are her lyrics cheezy. Her 2 songs were two of the funnier "skits" of the evening. One of her lyrics is along the lines of "she is so... whatever"

As a lifelong selfish Chicagoan, I'd prefer if they went ahead and put it in Indianapolis. Close enough to go if you are so inclined and far enough not to snarl the Dan Ryan any worse than it already is.

had it, enjoyed it, would eat it again.

I'm not disagreeing that UT was great. They defined my college years almost completely. I think Jay and Jeff have both far exceeded their output in that band though.
-
wha? I tend to disagree with you on about every level but to each their own. We do agree that people should go out and buy their stuff. I'd leave "No Depression" until you have already bought everything else.

How do these guys get their lives back?

well stated Caliber. -
Wow, where were you standing CF? I thought the sound was great where I was standing. However, the Vic is notorius for having shitty sound if you are standing beneath the balcony. I saw Son Volt several times when Trace came out and they were great. They lost me somewhere around WST (although I love the album). They just seemed to be bored live. That seems to have changed for me when Jay starting putting his solo stuff out. I've seen him solo and it was great. I've also seen Son Volt 2 a couple of times and they have been very tight. A bit business-like but they get it done.

Wait, are you saying that these white LaCrosse players may not be douchebags?
