  1. I had one of these and it burned to the ground in downtown Montreal in January 1986, about a week before the Challenger space shuttle blew up.
  2. Fuck Tha Police (NWA) made a lot of noise.
  3. I would guess that it'll sell out, with some help from the Canada side of the border. Rochester was basically sold out, and the crowd was enthused. And I don't think Wilco has played the Buffalo area for quite a while.
  4. Thanks for that link-- BUT, I got better seats via Wilco Ticketing. (from Wilcoworld website) See you all in LEWISTON!!!!!!!!!!
  5. If this is an issue you're having in general - then below is a decent starting reference on this topic, written in layman's terms. It explains the geometry theory of different alignment methods. If you want a better (but much more technical) reference, PM me and I can dig up/scan some articles for you. http://www.vinylengine.com/protractor-user-guide.shtml

    Wilco DVD

Well I'm dying to see this, but I have tickets to the screening at Hot Docs festival, so........I think I'll wait another two weeks and watch it on the big screen!
  7. He also looks like he's losing weight. Good pics.
  8. for example... "You've got a blue asshole." (blue eyed soul) Or "He had a black guy, he was proud of. Like some of his friends" (black eye, UT) I know, I know...we can do better.
  9. "A mondegreen is the mishearing or misinterpretation of a phrase, typically a standardized phrase such as a line in a poem or a lyric in a song, due to near homophony, in a way that yields a new meaning to the phrase." Well, I searched and found no threads. So whatcha got??

    Dates in June

Yeah that's almost 2 years to the day they played Aronoff..I was there. Nice venue to see Wilco.
  11. Yeah the bassist was a girl. I liked that song too...one of my faves from the 90's. Well, maybe in my top 30, if I really had to think about it.
  12. I usually get slain by a simple, well-placed harmonica solo, like in Moonshiner, or Call Me On Your Way Back Home, or The Ghost Of Tom Joad. Gets me every time.
  13. I think it should be untitled, with a plain black cover jacket with just a pair of grey bullhorns...and obviously it's 'new'. So therefore a play on Bull Black Nova. Of course the cognescenti will refer to it as The Black Album. Alternatively: New Zealand. That's all I've got.
  14. Probably a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing. It's not a reality most of us face all that often, and he was having his reaction filmed close up at the time.
  15. I do. The records were on big black wax platters and we didn't buy them at best buy. But who gives a fuck about nostalgia. I'll be listening to this the first chance I can get.
  16. Agree...it was a good review, the only odd omission was not mentioning the Kot book.
  17. My favorites..apart from the 5 Wilco's released this decade: Leonard Cohen - 10 New Songs Bob Dylan - Love & Theft, Modern Times Ryan Adams- Heartbreaker, Easy Tiger Lucinda Williams - Essence, World Without Tears Solomon Burke - Don't Give Up On Me David Gray - White Ladder Elvis Costello - The Delivery Man Johnny Cash- Amercan IV Paul Simon - Surprise Townes Van Zandt- In The Beginning (posthumous, so I guess it wouldn't count..but what a treat) Radiohead- In Rainbows Golden Smog - Another Fine Day White Stripes- Icky Thump I've got others but my head is in a fog today....maybe later
  18. He was pretty swell in that Jim Jarmusch one Coffee and Cigarettes too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6Mw6b1T50U Good to hear the news.
  19. I'll go the opposite way...er, kinda. Sunken Treasure is a studio masterpiece. Misunderstood is a great live vehicle. Love them both & JM2C.
  20. I happened to read this in a waiting room yesterday. Time Magazine - 10 Questions. (Van Morrison) http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/...1882001,00.html Van's last comment is quite telling.
  21. +1 Really what "we" fans want isn't too relevant to the creative side of things, that's why it's art. Great musicians routinely leave behind a portion of their audience...Dylan does this, Bowie, Neil Young, etc. It's not a big deal. Just follow the muse and maybe some people will like it. Iggy Pop just made a jazz record, for chrissakes.
