Lions! 4-0!
-
That's on this week, Wed & Thu nights, on HBO.

I guess so - got that stat this morning from the screen-thingy in the elevator that shows newsblurbs. I can't find another source.

Chuck Klosterman had a nice essay on the nature of Halls of Fame.

That was an amazing finish to the season. What an amazing comeback for the Rays. To send in a guy to pinch hit with two outs in the 9th, who had been batting .108, and he smacks a home run... And Boston was 77-0 this season when leading in the 9th.

Amazing collapse(s) for the Queens. Did anyone see the trick punt play that the Bears almost pulled off?

So! ... 2 weeks in... I can't believe this is true, especially during the Barry Sanders era (admittedly, Lions were hot and cold during his time), but this weekend the Lions are the favored team at Minnesota for the first time since 1981.

Oops - I meant question 2 to mean top 10 American...

1.a. Who is your favorite American band/solo act/ensemble/dance troupe/whatever label applies that is currently "active" (meaning - still making records or still touring)? 1.b. If you answered Wilco, besides Wilco. 2. Who are your top 10 American acts all time? 3. In your top 10 all time, all world list, how many are American? (I've discovered my tastes definitely lean towards England). My answers: 1: Los Lobos 2: (in no order) CCR Los Lobos Wilco Talking Heads Queens of the Stone Age Ramones Stooges Pavement X The Doors 3. Beatles Kinks CCR Stones Clash Led Zep Blur Pogues L

Got any good blues records lately?
Winston Legthigh replied to Scott Gyrrr's topic in Someone Else's Song
Black Keys - Chulahoma is a great blues EP - all Junior Kimbrough songs. RL Burnside - A Ass Pocket of Wiskey, and Come On In. Great albums. The latter is a Dust brothers remix, IIRC. -
Tigers and Rangers are in a nice race for Home Field in the first round.

St. Vincent (Strange Mercy) anyone?

Your favorite opening ACTS of all-time, ever?
Winston Legthigh replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
They weren't exciting by any means, but that's not necessarily part of my personal criteria as good. Wilco's not exciting, but they're a great live band. Cornershop was good. -
