  1. Sorry. I meant the shows you attend. Thanks for the help, guys. Any serious responses would be appreciated.
  2. I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but did they do away with the thing on their website that allowed you to keep track of the shows they attend?
  3. It was a great show in a gorgeous venue. I've never done it before, but I recorded "In the Street" because I recognized Jody before they introduced him and knew what was coming. The only complaint I have about last night is that, as is usually the case for Wilco shows I attend, the poster was lame. But if that's your biggest complaint then you know you've had a pretty great evening.
  4. Wilco at the Orpheum in Memphis! I gotta admit that my fandom for Wilco is very much on the decline, but I’m still looking forward to tonight’s show.
  5. I'd love to know what his connection with Mississippi is. Lateness of Dancers, which he titled one of their albums, is taken from "Delta Wedding," a Eudora Welty short story. That's about when I discovered HGM. Then there's a song called "Biloxi" on Heart Like a Levee. And the new album has a song called "Gulfport You've Been on My Mind." Gulfport is a city next to Biloxi and is my hometown. At least I assume he's talking about Gulfport, Mississippi.
  6. Statue of Liberty play - It only works once. Don't throw it away.
  7. Another big loss for the music world If you've never watched the documentary on his life and career, "Charles Bradley: The Soul of America," I highly recommend it. Rest easy, Charles. Cancer sucks.
  8. Listening to some of their older (I.R.S.) stuff.
  9. Today's the six-year anniversary of their calling it a day.
  10. I also thought it was kinda "meh" though I love Mavis and was very interested in learning more about her life and career.
  11. Say what you want about them, but in my opinion they can still bring it live. Their show with Beck last night in New Orleans was incredible. I'm not a fan at all of big arena or stadium shows, but they always seem to pull it off.
  12. U2 & Beck at the Superdome in NOLA.
  13. I was a senior in high school when Automatic came out. A friend left his tape copy in my car, and I listened to it over and over. To me it will always represent R.E.M. at their creative peak. I, too, wish they'd included the b-sides from that era. Demos don't do much for me.
  14. I'll see them tomorrow night in NOLA, and I'll admit it's a total nostalgia thing. I haven't gotten into anything they've released since "All That You Can't Leave Behind."
  15. The Indians' streak may be the story of the year in baseball regardless of which team wins it all. A streak like this is very rare in baseball. I'm a Braves fan, and even though I don't have a dog in the hunt I'm loving it.
  16. Day made. https://pitchfork.com/news/mavis-staples-announces-new-album-with-jeff-tweedy-if-all-i-was-was-black/?mbid=homepage-more-latest-and-video
