  1. DMB probably makes more money because their tickets cost more and they sell more of them. They play stadiums and huge venues.
  2. I listened to W(TA) the other day on headphones and heard some stuff that didn't stand out to me before. The songs are not as strong as other albums, but the guitar interplay is first-rate. Fun to pick out details and who's playing what part.
  3. I realized that I may have come off like a jerk when I truly was just trying to have some fun. But your reply was nicely done. Are these posters available for sale online anywhere? Even though I never attended any of the shows, I think this poster would fit nicely in my Wilco collection.
  4. "Nitrous Neko." Thanks for sharing that.
  5. Long Black Veil is one of my all-time favorites. How cool.
  6. Huh. Honestly, the author doesn't offer any insights that I haven't read elsewhere about Summerteeth. Plus that article is three years old. Don't believe I've ever stumbled onto that site before, so thanks for sharing!
  7. And as expected/hoped, weird album art!
  8. Hmmm...I wonder what Wilco movie comes next after the Solid Sound documentary. Hmmm....
  9. I think Shonna had a lot of influence on the soul sound -- I had read once that she listened to almost nothing but soul exclusively and played a lot of it on the tour bus. Like I said -- I dig it all, but call me crazy for enjoying the less-rocking Truckers just a tad bit more.
  10. I didn't care for her tunes much either. The bass player they have on tour right now is freakin' awesome. He almost stole the show in Kansas City, at which they played mostly older material. And it rocked. I'm excited to hear what they come up with next in the studio. Quick question: Decoration Day or Dirty South?
  11. I love how this thread went from "Dave Grohl mentioned I Am Trying to Break Your Heart in an interview," to a discussion on the merits, or lack thereof, of a collaboration between the two. Personally, I don't see "Grohlco" jiving.
  12. On Isbell: Southeastern is outstanding. It goes back in my CD player in my car about every other album. I think quite a few people didn't care for its predecessor, Here We Rest, but I keep that, Southeastern and Live from Alabama in my car. I love all three of them, much more than his first two. On DBT: I love quite a bit of DBT material, but actually prefer their "newer" stuff. Probably my two favorites are Brighter Than Creation's Dark and Go-Go Boots. Something about the subtlety and nuances in the sound after adding an organ player, writing more acoustic tunes and incorporating more
  13. I can't help but harbor some hope that playing all the covers, the Woody tunes and even Uncle Tupelo tunes has some sort of effect on the next Wilco record. Some kind of balance between more great pop songs, tunes with extended instrumental passages, rootsy alt-country stuff...or some amazing amalgamation of all those things. Who knows. But these sets that touch upon all the albums that also feature covers and rarities are just amazing, and maybe will "encourage" the band to really try a lot of different things while making the next record.
  14. My head exploded AGAIN, seeing that they played the Sahm tune. This is one special tour.
  15. That's a spreadsheet I'd study. These set lists have been incredible to just watch. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Roadcase release too. An Americanarama anthology would be most excellent.
