  4. it could be a Jarboe-less Swans situation, who knows.
  5. well, they did take a good chunk of time off before _Riot Now!_ came out.
  6. which other bands w/ married couples survived? or even bands w/ inter-personnel relations that didn't involve marriage? by my count (and some friends): X Superchunk Throbbing Gristle Shearwater Fleetwood Mac The Pixies Velvet Underground The Fall
  7. Crow...now there's a band i haven't figured would show up here...i really liked them. smoked some weed w/ the singer when they played a predominantly Sub Pop-based music fest in VT way back when.
  8. with Kim and Thurston announcing a separation, this throws serious doubts into whether or not Sonic Youth will continue. they are certainly one of my favorites, and embody a lot of what i feel music should be. fun, creative, expansive, powerful. they never really stayed in one place (though there is definitely an identifiable SY sound), and helped a lot of people along the way. their influence is pretty massive, given their relatively paltry record sales as measured by conventional standards. they might be the band I've seen the most play live, and they never ever came close to deliver
  9. heh, just downloading them from my cards right now! seriously, if you have a chance ,go see them. amazingly fun rock band.
  10. holy shit, Wild Flag fucking rocked. definitely one of the best shows i've seen all year.
  11. i saw the Clash w/ and w/o Mick Jones. i'll let you figure out what was the better show
  12. i saw them on the 16 Lovers Lane tour, and then a long time afterwards when it was just Robert and Grant when they reformed. that was probably just a year or two prior to Grant's passing. fantastic band.
  13. i haven't seen PJ Harvey yet (well, i saw her w/ John Parish, but i want the full PJH experience).
  14. thanks! you mean this one? that was taken at last year's All Tomorrow's Parties, up in the Catskills. That's Matt Pike of Sleep on stage. i gotta say there's a refreshing lack of mobile phones and cameras in the photo
  15. sorry to chime in late, but that's not a fisheye...it's taken w/ an ultrawide lens (16-35mm f/2.8 Canon lens, to be specific).
  16. also to be accompanied by sky blue sky.
  17. nice set of Jansch on today's Pontoon Palace radio show (6-8AM on WMBR, 88.1 FM, hosted by Rich Pontius).
