  1. i don't think it's nitpicking, and i had the same reaction...bands that you could have seen, but didn't for whatever reason. yeah i would have loved to have seen Barrett-era Floyd @ the UFO room but i was 1 year old and in a different continent... this thread, at least to me, is more about missed chances that were fully in grasp.
  2. i think Radiohead should have named their LP The King of Leons.
  3. You had a chance to see The Beatles? wasn't their final show in the US in '65 or so? i wish i had seen The Chameleons when they reformed in '01 or so...still not sure why i didn't go, other than our first kid was keeping us homebound quite a bit. i had plenty of chances to see Silkworm and never did. i also blew off seeing Husker Du play @ my school in '86. saw 'em on the last tour, but it wasn't the same i'm sure. i could have seen a lot of bands that i later came to know and appreciate, too late...Wipers and Savage Republic would fall into this bucket. Black Flag, too.
  4. Romania? Indonesia? Nigeria? i really don't know the criteria.
  5. moving to a 2nd or 3rd world country will cure that quickly.
  6. so the $10 purchases are mp3s and not physical product?
  7. excellent: http://www.prefixmag.com/news/arcade-fire-respond-to-who-is-arcade-fire-meme/49491/
  8. i think any song by Anal Cunt should count as a questionable song.
  9. i'm not a car guy but i would definitely have that as my summer ride.
  10. Dylan made Lemmy's voice sound like an Austrian choir boy.
  11. David Yow does intense, not those Mumford schlubs. they got a merit badge for trying too hard. same w/ the Avetts, who were equally as bad. if Paltrow wasn't there, Cee-lo would have been even better. but then again, i like that song, and it looked like he was having fun.
  12. i really didn't like M&S at all...they seemed far too earnest in demonstrating their rocking-out-ness. Janelle Monae had a great performance, as did Cee-Lo. i thought that Arcade Fire song was pretty bad, personally. but, i'm glad they won, moreso for Merge.
  13. that is awesome...i knew the melody line was familiar but didn't connect the pieces... here are my random thoughts i posted from last night. i immediately had a Die Antwoord moment when Gaga emerged from her Derek Smalls pod. why is that douche wearing a tea cozy on his head? i'm impressed that Cee-Lo arranged to borrow Sun Ra's headdress. Muse obviously didn't rehearse their award acceptance comments... when did John Mayer surgically transform into a hybrid of Jack White and Johnny Depp? if they don't show van Vliet during the In Memoriam portion...i'll do an angry tweet* or something
  14. i guess viewers take this stuff seriously.
  15. thanks! here's the link: http://www.prefixmag.com/photos/robyn-diamond-rings-natalia-kills-house-of-blues-b/ it was a pretty fun show to shoot, esp the opener Natalia Kills...not too many indie rock bands give you looks like this (but the music was canned beats crap)
  16. i caught the 1st show in Boston...here's my review (good, but short, due to Colin's illness): The Decemberists and Wye Oak
