i love the Furries, too. but there's been a decline in the last two records...Gruff's solo LPs have been better (and the live show, too...seriously, the SFA show at last year's ATP was painful, whereas the Rhys solo show i saw in '08 was really great). back on topic, if there's UT reunion tour, i'd go see it, but it's awfully self-centered to think that the fanbase would have anything to influence this.

hey, much obliged for the shout outs! judging from Autumn's site, are you specifically looking to more portraiture work? i mainly do live shoots, but i can tell you that Shawn Brackbill is a kickass photographer and has taken some great shots of a lot of my favorite musicians like the Melvins and Boredoms. Roger Kisby is another excellent shooter I've met via the ATP fests, he does some nice work. Kalle's a Finnish photographer who's work I have a ton of respect for as well: http://www.bjorklid.net/ -
no mention yet of the Uffizi, which if you like renaissance art is a must see. if you happen to make it to Florence. two hr train ride, well worth it if you have an extra day or two to spend. plus, todd trainer named his dog that.

Get Your Motor Runnin'
tinnitus photography replied to CortezTheKiller's topic in Someone Else's Song
seriously, it's an amazing song, and it's not like SWD was some one and done indie label band...two records on A&M, one on Geffen...if they missed the top 250, then yeah...maybe a bit too obscure. 885 songs and no mention? heretical. CtK, good to see you. -

bullshit. they list 885 songs and 'Son of Mustang Ford' by Swervedriver isn't on it? worthless. -

i think a lot of Nick's work is sadly out of print, but you might be able to score cheapish copies via Amazon or ebay. i would highly recommend these: Any Gas Faster (which is what Ear Song is from) Son Of Walter New River Head he played here last year in a pretty rare appearance, a celebratory show for a friend of mine who's had a long-running DJ slot at the MIT radio station. here's a vid (~1 min of banter before the song starts) -

no. Nick's better known as The Bevis Frond, a sadly underrated outfit that crosses brilliant Hollies-esque pop songs w/ Hendrix guitar freakouts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKDR7VN3SYA Current 93 is the long-running project of David Tibet, which first started out as noisy industrial stuff but gave way to beautifully plangent apocalyptic folk. Will Oldham is a recent adjunct member of C93, along w/ others. Groundhogs' Tony McPhee is a great guitar player. 'Cherry Red' is likely their best-known song. good stuff though can be a bit derivative. -

of the bands listed from that link, i personally would vote for: Afrika Bambaataa Alice Cooper Beastie Boys Captain Beefheart The Cars Cheap Trick The Cure Deep Purple Devo Fela Flying Burrito Brothers Iron Maiden The Jam Jethro Tull Kraftwerk Love The Meters Nick Drake Peter Gabriel Peter Tosh Replacements Roxy Music Todd Rundgren Tom Waits Yes the ones in bold I think should be a shoo-in, based on relevance and influence
