  1. apply for and get a job at Newbury Comics, but be sure to specify that you can only work at the Newbury location, and only on Saturday. until 1 or so.
  2. granted NYC prices are different, but maybe our definition of 'club' is the issue here... in Boston anyways, i would say that a club is 1000 or less capacity, excepting House of Blues which is almost on par with T5. and 90% of shows at venues like The Paradise, Royale, Sinclair, even HoB are definitely under $50. There is no way Wilco would play a venue like HoB at this stage in their career; they are too big.
  3. a club show for under $50? that's incredibly easy.
  4. in the early 90s i saw a set sale for this record in Goldmine, for $100. which was a lot of money in those days and i passed. I've never seen another copy come up for sale, and i doubt i ever will. i did get a copy of the bootleg that came out a few years ago. https://www.discogs.com/Jim-Shepard-Slit-and-Pre-Slit/release/7397745
  5. he has not been there. watching Herndon and McEntire drum together is amazing. WAND is cool, too.
  6. that can only mean one thing. they are playing the Pitchfork festival.
  7. depending on what you are looking for, there is a strong possibility you might never actually see a physical copy.

  9. i haven't bought a record via ebay in years, though the automated alerts were handy at times... discogs is the way to go, imo.
  10. well this was unexpected... congrats to my friends in High On Fire!!!
  11. that live record was my intro to the band. killer set.
  12. he didn't say a word to the crowd, and generally looks pretty much like he did 30 years ago. i didn't realize the new record is all covers, so i was pretty confused when early on, i picked out Yo La Tengo and Nick Cave covers. i could have done without the (fucking) Eagles, but the Lucinda Williams song was a nice fit, as was the Bee Gees. i did a little research and he did this 10 years ago too. https://www.discogs.com/The-Lemonheads-Varshons/master/170242 and the new one: https://www.discogs.com/The-Lemonheads-Varshons-II/release/12923531
  13. saw the Lemonheads kick off their tour last night, in dublin. fun show. gonna see Sleaford Mods (finally!) tmrw night.
  14. gotta say that 3/4 of a Pussy Galore reunion wasn't really what i expected to see in 2019.
  15. that lineup is the definition 'let's spin the wheel of bands who are touring'...
  16. i need to finish my review but i thought the show was great. very heavy on Hell-On but i think it's a very strong record overall, so no complaints. the vocals sounded great; the biggest gap of missing Hogan was the back and forth... banter was decent but not up to usual Neko levels.
  17. it's a soundboard shoot so i'll be hanging at the back. Neko is transitioning full diva mode...
  18. Neko Case. Assuming some other VCers will be there as well?
