  1. but at least you can buy $16 beers!
  2. i really like the new record. bummed her boston show is an opening slot for ray lamontagne. but i bought tickets for her november show in dublin,
  3. maybe i'm bitter because he rarely ever seems to play Boston. not counting Fuzz, he's played here twice in the last 8 years. he's probably played NYC 15 times in that same period. edit - if setlist.fm can be trusted, the count is 22 times.
  4. Total score. Sometimes I think that “Danger Bird” is his best song.
  5. All rock is dumb. Even Steely Dan and King Crimson and The Kinks.
  6. Wait, what? Did his audience bum you out? That I can see. But his performance or his band? GTFO.
  7. My initial thought exactly.
  8. maybe Woody's granddaughter has some extras still laying around.
  9. it's not real, there's a trump tweet generator.
  10. no banjo, he was playing a flying v metal bass, made by electrical guitar company. buzz played those (not the flying v model) for a while, but now seems like he's on an original travis bean. steve played a Reverend that looked like a BC Rich.
  11. they went the other way... two bass players this tour. Steve McDonald (Redd Kross, OFF!) and Jeff Pinkus (Butthole Surfers). sounded fucking awesome. great cover of "Sway" that i wasn't expecting. i also got the band to autograph a tour-only LP since i knew a guy in the opening band, and Pinkus couldn't have been nicer. hell, they all were, though Buzz was preoccupied w/ his phone.
  12. i didn't know the band at all and just briefly met them at Newport two summers ago... man, what a friendly, easygoing band. really sad news to hear that Scott wasn't able to overcome his struggles. he got instant cred points from me for giving the correct answer to 'who is the best Scottish band of all time.' RIP Scott. let your music live on.
  13. i was thinking of getting one but haven't pulled the trigger yet... at age 52, it's probably too late however, personally i'd never get any sort of text in a tattoo.
  14. i had 4th row tickets in my cart until i realized i'm out of town that night. dammit.
  15. Walken has warmed me a bit when played live. still don't like "Hate It Here."
  16. i find this is a record you need to spent a fair amount of actively listening. it's low key, but there is a lot there. give it some time.
  17. saw Obituary last night... they were awesome (though i left early because a 4 band bill on a sunday is a brutal way to start the week).
