I live in Portland and know where Gateway is. Its where most of our bigger businesses and radio stations are. I did about three or four laps around the building, didn't see anybody from the band. I went up the street, bought a ticket to see Dinosaur jr. Did another lap around the building and went home. No luck today... but if they are doing a double album, I'd assume they'll be here for a while.

Thats a great deal. wow. His three studio albums are totally worth the $34.

I'd be all over this if I had the money

^ Oh man oh man oh man. What an incredible show. Like I have nothing else to say beside the fact that is Paul fuckin rhymin Simon! His band is the best. Paul phrases some lines in his songs differently, especially the groovin ones but it really doesn't matter. I highly suggest seeing him before he packs it all in... which I doubt he will soon. A+

I feel like everyone is a huge asset to Wilco. thats what makes this line up so special. Everyone is so great at what they do

god damn that solo Nels takes on Ashes of American Flags was fucking great.

This new album is basically what the first album was.. but there is nothing wrong with that. I love it.
-
a lot of his songs are pretty standard progressions. You could probably just try to find the roots and figure out the chords from there.
-
its not really a sneak peak. its basically just whats been floating around on the internet

yup.

Can i buy it on their website or somewhere else? I wanna get this when I turn 21 next month.

yeah! Thats one thing I've started to learn is giving stuff out for free. Free alternate mixes of songs, B-sides, live recordings etc. People eat it up.

Too bad David Gilmour effed up the lyrics and played a totally lackluster solo. lols. But in all seriousness, this is really awesome to see. I saw the show in Boston and was in complete awe. Absolute spectacle. In my top 5 best shows I've ever seen!

try and get the files! and make it a free download.

without them playing in town that night? no. But I did meet Nels at a record store here in Portland. I saw Glenn walking around talking on his cell phone, i just waved and smiled. John was walking with some lady. Talked to him briefly. When Jeff played here in Portland in February, I waited outside of his tour bus for like an hour. haha. I gave him my bands CD and he signed my acoustic guitar.

Most Beautiful Songs that Break Your Heart
Cam Jones replied to sgtpepper64's topic in Someone Else's Song
Remember the Mountain Bed is a song that always brings me back to a really loving, simple time in my life. When I saw Jeff last month in Portland he played it and I shed a little tear. as cliche as it is... anything by Bon Iver makes me really cold and sad... I'm almost scared to listen to those songs. Charlie Darwin by the Low Anthem is a sad song... but not like a personal sad song. Just a we're all done for kind of song. Its amazing! Old Mythologies by the Barr Brothers. One Day Like This by Elbow brought tears to my eyes when I first heard it. Beautiful number -
my band played at one of the local stores up here. It was a lot of fun, lots of people came out. I'm really happy to see people buying stuff. I made off with the last copy of the new Foo Fighters album and a deluxe version of the new Paul Simon album. Got a free lithograph too!

Whats the gripe with the opening act? They might not have been chosen by Jeff himself but they're trying to make it and giving it an honest try. They werent the most most incredible thing I've seen but they were pretty good! So if you can actually bring yourself to sit, listen, and be respectful for another 35 minutes...
