I was wondering if they might play this one again soon after SSIII. And with MMJ to boot! -
It really is! I like how they are mixing it up. Some of my favorites on this one - New Madrid, Kamera, Say You Miss Me, Via Chicago, Late Greats. And they are playing more songs each night than Dylan (though I know Dylan stretches out a bunch of his songs).

I agree. I'd bet one of those $35 t-shirts that they did not have a choice, though - can't sell a t-shirt for $25 when the main act is selling them for $35 or more.

Yes! We took in a North Adams Steeplecats baseball game (New England Collegiate Baseball League) on Thursday night, and it was a good time. The stadium is falling apart, but the fans around us (all 212 of them - that was the announced attendance) seemed to know their baseball. We also ate at Jack's, a hot dog/burger/fries place that was excellent. The place opened in 1917, I believe. Wicked inexpensive, too. And they only serve hot dogs, burgers, and fries; my vegetarian daughter had to be content with fries. Five of us ate for $28. Love the free parking. We got into Lot 3 each day. So c

Count me in as a fan of Everlasting Everything. One good friend, who is a Wilco fanatic, thinks it is one of their best songs.

Love the Dark Star>California Stars>Dark Star! Playing One Sunday Morning at a festival is pretty ballsy. And the last 5 songs - what a run of rockers to finish it! Thanks for posting! -

That version of Dead Flowers gave me the chills. Twice. Fantastic. -
I am not surprised that a piece of this thread has addressed Dylan's set list choices, as he does have so many songs to choose from and he plays only 16 or so in a show (maybe fewer in this festival setting; I did not count the number of songs in the set list from this first night). It looks like a good mix of songs to me, though many in the crowd would probably like fewer new songs and more classics. My issue with him is not the song choices. What I can't abide anymore is his tattered, shattered voice. His voice was rarely strong to begin with (maybe when he quit cigarettes around the time

You are right! RIP Gene.

I could think of nothing else during that song except Will Ferrill's cowbell....

It was clear from Glenn's body language that he really really wants to retire the standing on the drum stool bit. I'm happy for him that he will be able to retire it. I hope they feel that they can retire the "Jeff and Pat play really close together on the twin guitar part" of Impossible Germany as well, and anything else that they feel they have to do.

Mr Jeff Tweedy is full of a kind of human milk for sure!

Once they kicked into Waterloo, I looked around for glitter confetti, and sure enough, to my left, about 10-12 yards away, sparkly glitter was flying. What fun! The fact that the band learned this song for folks on this board is so cool (since I cannot imagine anyone else requesting Waterloo by some freak coincidence, I am assuming the band did it for the folks here). As Lotti says, Welfare! -

I'm with you, Calvino - I will miss living vicariously through remphish's concert-going. And TP's, too, for that matter. Wait, TP's not going anywhere.... -

This made me laugh. -
I liked the Foxygen set, too. They had a youthful energy that was goofy, pretentious, and not at all like the rest of the festival. They butchered a few songs, and did some really well. And the pop up show in the museum was absolutely beautiful - one of the best parts of the festival for me. Same here! Fun, fun opener. A huge surprise. And the setlist made it feel like 1999 all over again for much of the night. Lovely.

I liked Night #1's cover-fest, though I get that some folks might have wanted a few Wilco rarities sprinkled in (like a One True Vine or something along that line). That would have been great to have a two or three of those as well. And yes, many of the covers were songs they have done in the past (Ripple, Don't Fear the Reaper, In the Street, etc.). Overall, I was happy as a clam. It looked like they had fun onstage, and the fans around us toward the front looked happy as well. If Jon Hodgman had come out for only the three stump-the-band songs, that would have been ok with me. The rest of

Another vote for Misunderstood. And Aerosmith dropping the curtain with Back in the Saddle in the Permanent Vacation-era was a great way to start a show. Jokerman - Bob Dylan Cats and Dogs - The Head and the Heart

I saw them play Nightwatchman in the late 80s - killer song. A memorable one to see live. I like their music, particularly the early stuff, but I do not have much interest in seeing them live now.

Thanks for the post - great to hear news on Gary. Love that he played Jennifer Save Me and 16 Down - two of my favorites. To me, Blue Earth mostly sounds like it belongs in a museum. A real cool museum. It has a way, way back sound. Only Ain't No End sounds like it could have been off a later album of theirs, and that is one they have played fairly regularly live. I love many others off that album, but I can understand why that record doesn't do much for Gary now. -
Just heard their version of "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" on the radio, and Charlie swings like nobody's business. Love his playing.

That is my favorite that I've heard from her work with Jeff. Something else on One True Vine might beat this out, but I'm doubting it. Love the sound of her voice over that semi-noisy sound. Mavis-edgy.

It is interesting that W(TA) has dropped from the set lists for this long, other than the occasional One Wing. They have played Country Disappeared a few times, too, in the past year, but by and large the album continues to be below the radar on set lists. -
Reason #349 of why I love women.

Woo-hoo!!!!!!! Same boat, fewer shows attended. I love this song, and I am so excited to hear it. My excitement for SS just went up another notch!
