  1. As compelling as the immigration issue may be, I find this far more troubling: http://www.slate.com/blogs/bad_astronomy/2014/11/04/republicans_and_the_midterms_global_warming_deniers_could_have_their_dreams.html
  2. In other news, Texas Republicans have once again been tampering with textbooks instead of reading them: http://www.npr.org/blogs/ed/2014/11/21/365686593/texas-hits-the-books
  3. The Port Chester shows are available as of this morning!
  4. That might have something to do with the setlist. They played a lot of their slower tunes last night. Great songs all, but they weren't exactly going to inspire a mosh pit.
  5. We must've been at different shows. Jeff looked very happy to me. All smiles. I thought it was a fantastic show. The setlist was near perfect, and Nels & Glenn in particular were just on fire, particularly during Ashes. I think taking this past year off to play with other people has been good for them as a band. The only downside for me - and it's a small one - was that I ended up on the rail directly in front of John's rig, so I got a bit too much bass & not enough Nels. Still hard to complain, though.
  6. Thanks, man. It was great seeing you again last night. Have a safe trip!
  7. For those attending tonight, do NOT park at the church across from the theatre. We arrived at 4:50 and the lot was unattended (or so we thought). We walked across to the venue to ask the few folks in line about parking, and in the 5 minutes it took us to get back to the car, the attendant, who'd apparently been watching us, had his obnoxious buddy boot our car. His friend tried to tell us he'd "gotten a call about our car and had to drive across town to get here". I told him that was bullshit. While we're arguing, the attendant pulls out his "lot is open" sign. It's now 5pm. So basically,
  8. I haven't seen much sorrow from his peers (not that he'd admit to having any), either. Not surprising, really - he wasn't the nicest person. He was hugely arrogant, second only to Ginger Baker.
  9. The Milk Carton Kids & Sarah Jarosz.
  10. I bought the album at the show. They were excellent! Chris has a great voice.
  11. It's like watching the Tin Man audition for Devo. But as you said, he seems like a nice guy and he's a very good player. If that's how he expresses himself, so be it.
  12. What a fun show! I've never seen Jeff Happier or funnier. It's a testament to his good mood that he allowed that awful, loud, attention seeking "singer" in the front row to humiliate herself rather than doing it for her. My Darling was an excellent surprise, as was the new song, which was very upbeat and catchy. It'll be interesting to see if, when & with which band it will be recorded. This was my third time seeing Tweedy, and the first without the Lucius girls doing harmonies. As prominent as they are on the record, I wondered how the band would compensate live without them. They did
  13. Best wishes, man. That's a nightmare - glad they're ok!
  14. What a fantastic show. I spent most of today trying not to keel over, but it was totally worth it. it was great meeting up with rempish1 before the show. Very nice guy. I'm really happy that the webcast has surfaced - I just downloaded it from Dime. Excellent quality! Can't wait to do it again on Friday in Boston!
  15. I'm going a bit early with a friend. Probably grab a drink or something. If you feel like saying hi, I'll PM you my number.
  16. Tweedy will be on Colbert tonight with the Lucious gals (who'll also be joining them in Brooklyn tomorrow night!).
  17. It's difficult to express how much I love this album. There are a few songs on here that may end up among my all-time favorite Jeff Tweedy songs.
  18. I'd be most grateful if someone could record the stream. I'd do it myself but I'll be at the show.
