  1. Same here Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Inside in the Hunter Center. And it usually fills up.
  3. Comedy lineup announced. Don't know everyone, but Eugene Mirman and Nick Offerman should be good. http://us3.campaign-archive1.com/?u=4a616680c4505859bbc832df7&id=790c9888ab&e=cfb6d16b03
  4. With Gowdy being one of the worst. Do some fact checking on him, I believe he's the one who leaked the name of a CIA officer during the Benghazi hearings. Now he's whining about Ryan being "unmasked" while Russia has likely infiltrated the White House. Beyond pathetic.
  5. FIrst 2 nights at the Beacon were both excellent. Saturday was a total Nels show, on fire from the get go. Maybe a little more fire from Nels and the band on Saturday, but both shows quite excellent. If I had to pick one top moment (which I would resist having to do!), it would probably be BBN on Saturday. I've heard recordings of this version, but this was my first live performance of this format of the tune, and it is spine tingling.
  6. He wore the black version both Beacon nights Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. That's pretty much perfectly stated from my perspective. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Nice show, Good set list with the "variables" that got played tonight. I had a great seat, again the sound and visuals, stage and theater, are all compelling. If anything I thought not quite as intense as Saturday, which was an off the hook Nels show, but basked in its warm dark glow nonetheless. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. The Beacon emails say to expect 30 minutes to get in thru security. I don't know what it was like at the main entrance on Broadway, with paper tix you can enter the back on Lex, we walked right in, no line there.
  10. Didn't prevent the Allmans from selling their Instant Live recordings Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Wilco! Again! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Ashes is such a great opener for a Wilco show. Maybe even more so in a theater venue such as the Beacon where the dynamics of the tune are so palpable. I invited cousins last night, music fans but first Wilco exposure, and all day I was hoping they get an Ashes opener. Last night's version did not disappoint. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Should note Glenn did not stand on his drums. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk My buddy Bob couldn't find you. He ran his rig, tells me it came out good. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Nice job on the set list and show report. Great to meet up! The band was in fine form. What a treat to see them in the Beacon. Perfect size venue, with excellent sound. The band sounded great. The VC, BBN and Reservations section was incredible. Nobody does dark and beautiful better than Wilco. Jeff was bantering with some less than oblique references to our political times, encouraging folks to not feel helpless. Culminated in his storming up to the mike and saying: "my 83 year old dad tells me Don't let that monster make you sick.:" Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Great benefit, where is it happening? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. That's what the email from the Beacon said Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Heading down from MA for Wilco! A couple of shows at the Beacon in March. Same month, same place, different band. So psyched.
  18. Thx, never got one of those from the Beacon.
  19. I absolutely hated Garcia's post-Irwin guitars. Could never understand why he was playing them. I think they weighed less and that made it easier for him, but the sound was terrible. No bite.
  20. Did everyone see the email notice about 30 minute security lines to get into the Beacon? Head's up.
  21. What have been the set times? Beacon is listed as a 7:30 show. Has Joan Shelley been coming on right on schedule, how long of a set for her, and when has Wilco come on? Sorry, I see for Toronto Wilco tweeted Joan Shelley at 7:30/Wilco at 8:30. Has that been the case?
  22. File this under "setlist wishlist" as the Beacon shows approach. I would love for You Satellite to return to the shows. That was my highlight of the Star Wars shows. I also think it's the centerpiece of the album. Unless I missed it, I haven't seen it on the setlists of the Schmilco shows. Would love to catch it at the Beacon, but doesn't seem to be in rotation anymore.
  23. Thanks for all your reporting bbop. I'm going to nights 1 and 2 at the Beacon, I would be ecstatic for 13 different songs. Heck, I'd be ecstatic with any set that included Shouldn't Be Ashamed and At Least That's What You Said., I'm bringing some first timers on Saturday, I was hoping they would get the Red-Eyed>I Got You > Outtasite rock n roll ending, but oh well. We'll suffer through whatever the band has in store I'll see if I can keep it together enough to keep an accurate set list in your absence, but don't count on me to be able to do that all you Beacon folks!
  24. Same. Especially on the "getting psyched" part.
  25. I've been sitting on getting that, thanks for the reminder, just ordered it.
