Wow, we were all so young once. As my buddy Bob always says, "Lobos is a goddamned national treasure." I love those guys. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

An impossible task. But if I have to name just 1, would go with Garcia. BTW Mr. Legthigh, I love your Hidalgo pick! -
Yeah, that JGB album, recorded spring of 1990, has always been a favorite. Love that version of Waiting for a Miracle. The Keystone releases, especially the first, have always been my favorite Garcia project release. We were devouring Live at the Keystone in real time in our high school youth. Those kind of emotional evocative attachments don't break. As to this current version of R&C, I also noticed right away that it's not as rockin as other versions. But then I got hit by the groove, they just lock in right at the beginning and play it with this funky groove, sounds great to me.

Well, everyone has their own set of ears. I've listened to this several times and I'm loving it. Fall '91 was a great Garcia period (maybe the last?), and I find him to be in fine form, guitar and vocals, on this show. The Reuben and Cherise is pure gold-a total groove song from beginning to end. I've been recommending this to all my GD inclined friends.

My god, this new Garcia Live is fantastic! A great show from a great period, and it sounds awesome. I think this could be my favorite of all the Garcia releases. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I'm always surprised by how well attended the comedy show is. I don't know why I'm surprised, as my wife spends the entire Saturday at the comedy stage, but I'm always shocked that it's so well attended at a music festival. I agree, I don't see any other venue for the comedy, I don't think it's suited for outdoors (especially with music going on in the courtyards), nor do i think it works to have it standing only inside the Hunter.

Inside in the Hunter Center. And it usually fills up.

Comedy lineup announced. Don't know everyone, but Eugene Mirman and Nick Offerman should be good. http://us3.campaign-archive1.com/?u=4a616680c4505859bbc832df7&id=790c9888ab&e=cfb6d16b03

With Gowdy being one of the worst. Do some fact checking on him, I believe he's the one who leaked the name of a CIA officer during the Benghazi hearings. Now he's whining about Ryan being "unmasked" while Russia has likely infiltrated the White House. Beyond pathetic.

FIrst 2 nights at the Beacon were both excellent. Saturday was a total Nels show, on fire from the get go. Maybe a little more fire from Nels and the band on Saturday, but both shows quite excellent. If I had to pick one top moment (which I would resist having to do!), it would probably be BBN on Saturday. I've heard recordings of this version, but this was my first live performance of this format of the tune, and it is spine tingling.

Nice show, Good set list with the "variables" that got played tonight. I had a great seat, again the sound and visuals, stage and theater, are all compelling. If anything I thought not quite as intense as Saturday, which was an off the hook Nels show, but basked in its warm dark glow nonetheless. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

The Beacon emails say to expect 30 minutes to get in thru security. I don't know what it was like at the main entrance on Broadway, with paper tix you can enter the back on Lex, we walked right in, no line there. -

Ashes is such a great opener for a Wilco show. Maybe even more so in a theater venue such as the Beacon where the dynamics of the tune are so palpable. I invited cousins last night, music fans but first Wilco exposure, and all day I was hoping they get an Ashes opener. Last night's version did not disappoint. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

Nice job on the set list and show report. Great to meet up! The band was in fine form. What a treat to see them in the Beacon. Perfect size venue, with excellent sound. The band sounded great. The VC, BBN and Reservations section was incredible. Nobody does dark and beautiful better than Wilco. Jeff was bantering with some less than oblique references to our political times, encouraging folks to not feel helpless. Culminated in his storming up to the mike and saying: "my 83 year old dad tells me Don't let that monster make you sick.:" Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
