  1. Last year was the first year I didn't make it in 5 years, was planning to go this year, always go second weekend, but other than Wilco and TTB on the first Friday (who are likely to be playing at the same time from the way the lineup is listed), I'm underwhelmed by the lineup. Decisions decisions. http://www.nojazzfest.com/home/ http://lineup.nojazzfest.com/
  2. Never mind, just saw the other topic! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. That is so exciting! Two of the best songwriters ever. Should be awesome. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. That would be fantastic! Why do you think so? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Just noticed that in episode 10. Trying to figure out which wilco show that is. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. There's nothing I like about the Paradise. Going there for 35 years, still hate it each time. Was much better watching Soulive on my big screen in my warm room. They had multiple good camera angles.
  7. This show being streamed right now on Yahoo Live, just started. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Now that you're an award winning photographer, I think the value of your Wilco/Solid Sound photos hanging in my office just went up!
  9. He may not want to toot his own horn here, but I will for him. This shot by Mr. Tinnitus Photography was chosen as the top concert photo of the year in Boston by Bowery Boston Presents. Actually it was a 3-way tie, but that's still a winner. Check out Bowery Boston on Facebook. Congrats to Tim.
  10. One of my good buddies lives in NYC (now NYC and Austin), and sees more live music than any other person I know. I usually go down to NYC to catch a few shows with him each year, and we've been going to JazzFest together (I jumped on his trip, going on 17 years for him). He keeps a log every year, I looked at it over the weekend. Three pages, single spaced. Over 160 shows/dates listed. A very wide range of music. I don't know how he does it. A very understanding wife, to say the least.
  11. How was the show? I was planning to go, but then they were the surprise opener for Derek and Susan so I took a pass on this one. But I was wishing I was there.
  12. That link didn't work here in the U.S., but I found this on You Tube. Can't wait to get home and sit down and watch this! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDVIM2iBqdc
  13. The second set of this PhilRAD show happening right now is pretty damn good. Really looking forward to seeing JRAD in Boston in 2015 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Couch touring PhilRAD from the Capitol Theatre. Does that count as "Live! Tonight!"? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. The final Stormy Mondays column is a good one, keeping with the '74 theme, the second set from the "final" show, 10-20-74. I assume everyone's heard this, but if not check it out, and if so, no harm in listening again! http://www.jambase.com/Articles/123665/Stormy-Mondays-The-First-Final-Grateful-Dead-Show
  16. So far on my calendar: Jan. 2-Soulive (although I may pass having just seen them "surprise" open for TTB) Jan. 16-Camper Van and Cracker Feb. 6-Joe Russo's Almost Dead March 4-Los Lobos March 12-Gov't Mule (Sco/Mule) April 30-May 3-JazzFest June 26-28-Solid Sound Sept 10-13-Lockn' (likely)
  17. Bummed I missed that Television show. #1 miss of the year for me.
  18. Tweedy, Stipe and Paul Krugman. Three of my heroes.
  19. Pitchfork podcast about What's Your 20? and AMF. (Posted this in the Pitchfork review topic, sorry for the double post if that violates any rule!) http://downloads.pitchforkmedia.com.s3.amazonaws.com/podcasts/Pitchfork_Podcast_41__Wilco.mp3
  20. Haven't seen this mentioned here, was going to post this in the Wilco Heard Out and About topic, my son gave me a head's up to this Pitchfork podcast on AMF and What's Your Twenty. http://downloads.pitchforkmedia.com.s3.amazonaws.com/podcasts/Pitchfork_Podcast_41__Wilco.mp3 Pretty good discussion, don't agree with all of it but that's to be expected. At one point one of the guys refers to Tweedy as "a competent songwriter." Or something like that. Understatement of the year? Sort of like calling the '27 Yankees a "pretty good" team.
  21. Should have made that clear- the poster artist, Gary Grimshaw. I have hanging at home a GD promo photo from Arista from the In the Dark promo signed by Garcia and Weir.
