  1. But such cute running, and followed by a mic twirl & attempted catch!
  2. Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you Happy birthday Bri-aa-anne, and a strawberry cake too! Have a beautiful day and a beautiful year!
  3. Ok Tualla, I was raised Catholic with two aunts who were nuns and a grandma who made us mumble our way through a rosary holding hands whenever she visited....way to tweak my guilt, woman! As it happens, I was just today thinking of you and again feeling bad that I'd never raved to you about that eminently raveable performance, so you see the guilt is working. But Steve said he had raved to you, so since we were at the show together I figured I was covered. Only, Elliott Brood should never have outfitted me with a wooden spoon and tin pan, as I'm afraid I have a very white and Catholic sense of
  4. Ken's not entitled to lust after a guitar which needs to be mine.
  5. I remember when that happened. That was too cute.
  6. Now I'm really, really confused and also have a hankering to visit Perth! Besides, it's the home of my beloved Panics!
  7. Would it be wishful thinking, to wish I could hear live Wilco tonight?
  8. I'm sorry folks, I don't know where I've left my brain lately! I might never have noticed that thread duplication if Sir Stewart weren't so...BOLD! Thanks Sir Stewart.
  9. Hey Wendy! Ok, we have turkey and pie. We're gonna need some mashed potatoes and gravy and cranberries (I know, but ya gotta have 'em).
  10. Ken! You're a poet!! Yowza! Those are good!
  11. As you see, my avatar represents Thanksgiving, as Jeff cradles a huge, perfectly roasted turkey ("OW!OW!! HOT!!!"). As some of you might notice, there are also elements of Halloween remaining, in Jeff's bloody fangs and bloodred eyes, and in the blotches of blood on the turkey ("Does this look done to you?") Maybe the Halloween elements should go. ? But then I have managed to neatly bridge Fall, with these two major holidays represented , so perhaps I'll leave well enough alone. PS to Sir Stew and Wendy...see, I do catch on eventually! Topics merged! (Wendy, feel free to merge me if I d
  12. Probably easier for them to select winners if the haikus are sent individually. And no, I'm not going to let you play my new SG. Sorry, Ken.
  13. These are terrific! I used to love our Via Chicago Wilco haiku threads back in about 2002 to 2004! But then some folks got all "purist" about what really constituted a proper haiku, so I stopped posting them because it stopped being fun. But now we can all unleash our inner "poets". Here's a couple I submitted: Blood spattered hair Hitchcockian mad horror The trunk must be cleaned! and: Who loves ya baby? This is a job for Wilco Depend upon it.
  14. Yikes, I forget how big Australia is! How many time zones are there across the continent, Beck?
  15. I'm sensing a theme here. It's like, if we could just put these puzzle pieces together in the right way, we'd have the murderer!!! Or else I've been watching too many police dramas on tv.
  16. Turns out it's the Freemasons! What a cool plot twist!
  17. Which brings up an interesting question: Is it still true that "there's no blood on my hands" even if there's blood in his hair, and on the sofa, and in the sink and even the trunk? How much of a neatnik is he, to have managed not to get any on his hands?! Or did he just wash up after? I'm confused.
  18. Hahaha, my dad used to say that rhyme to me as a little girl, and I told it to all of my children. For anyone who missed it as a child: Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair If Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair, Then Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn't fuzzy, was he? Now somebody put a sweater on that poor bear!
  19. First off, Wow. Too much that's dismaying there to even shake a stick at. Even a very large branchy stick. I have to admit, "Waterboard congress!" cracked me up. Uh, Sambo? Good lord. I'm re-reading "Heart of Darkness" right now...we really haven't come quite as far as we'd like to think, have we? Still so much racism. And this: 'John Ratzenberger, a.k.a Cliff Clavin from "Cheers,"' The new GOP spokesperson?
  20. That link is pretty funny, Christy!
