  1. Choir here. I read this story this morning and just sighed and shook my head, thinking how far we still have to go. It's still a very intolerant world.
  2. Let's knock off all the baiting and personal attacks, folks. Maybe re-read the VC Rules and Regulations, which specifically prohibit both of these behaviors. I'd hate to have to start slinging suspensions around. Can we manage civilty and basic respect for other opinions? This alpha-dog one-upmanship gets so tiresome... and it's so damned childish besides! Please stop being so insultingly dismissive of each other. That doesn't exactly make VC a fun place, y'know? Love, kidsmoke
  3. I was joking back, bobbob. Damn the difficulty of tone reading correctly on the internet!
  4. Well, I took that comment by Lou as being extremely tongue-in-cheek, not meant at all in seriousness. It can be so hard to read someone's tone in printed form, so I suppose ikol's tone could have been misconstrued as well. I'd have preferred a different choice of words. Fair enough?
  5. Oh, spare me, Bobbob...no matter how ikol "meant" this, his choice of wording was offensive. That's all for me.
  6. Really? I thought Lou made some good, solid points. I can understand some of the merits of both sides of this argument... as usual the best path will take both into account, I think. Important that we proceed with compassion and a long view. M. Chris, as we discussed, so very important that our country's infrastructure gets attention soon!
  7. Hey Paul, can you list what was played at soundcheck, pretty please? I know they did "I'll Fight" and "Country Disappeared" but I can't remember what else.
  8. What a magnificent show this was! Liam & Eliza were a terrific opener. I do have photos of Liam in his MJ jacket, not sure how good but I'll post if I have a decent one. We heard Country Disappeared during soundcheck, and it sounds pretty wonderful. I'm sure it'll make a setlist soon. What a great time we had in Kansas City, and in the very best of company. Must do it again very-soonish.
  9. HEY! *knock knock knock* Does anybody out there have Direct TV??? Our Smoky Mountain Video Lord, Jesse Hamm, needs a recording of the Farm Aid concert and has so far been unable to locate someone who has Direct TV who could record it. Please help if you can! I shall find some way to reward the person who assists in this. It will be something at least mildly wonderful! It's all in your hands, Via Chicago. Don't disappoint yer old admin. Thanks in advance. Pm me or JHamm.
  10. Clearly, the spider dragged it in there to finish it off.
  11. Dare ya to do the Egan thing.
  12. I really was joking about the "twins" thing you realize...to be all Britney Spears (sorry)"I'm not (quite) that innocent". And I think more people would go to parades if....oh never mind...
  13. Yes well, I am exceptionally wise. Now stop girl, you're making me blush, and red isn't my best color. I'm a "Spring".
  14. Not to go all "mom" on you, but do we have to title this "I give a fat turd"? Because that's just childishly gross.
  15. Panther, dear, while you are perfectly entitled to your opinions, 4 posts in a row of relentless diatribes is a bit much, even for our permissive and tolerant board. Much of your commentary violates our clearly-stated rule against deliberately baiting other members. Your statements are your own opinions, not sacred fact, and much of it is offensive. You need to rein it in some or you will be unwelcome here. From the Via Chicago Rules and Regulations (prohibited behaviors): Baiting. Do not try to get a rise out of another member with your comments. Enough already.
  16. Yay for Archive! Thanks Wendy, that looks like a terrific set!
  17. Only too happy to share, Stof! Oh, and for Jay & anyone else who doesn't have Dimeadozen, the shows are up on Archive.org. Look under Steve Wynn. The dates were 8-28 and 8-29.
