Hi Joss, hope you are liking my mix. Funny story, actually, about my introduction to the marvel that is Synthesizer Patel....which I must finally confess to, as I am at heart an honest girl. At the time that we all got our first taste of the new album through the initial streaming, a few of us were puzzling over figuring out the lyrics, over in that lyrics thread, and we were all stumped by one line in "You Never Know". I happened to have tickets then to see Mikael's side band, Pronto, in Los Angeles. At the show, I got to talk to him after his set (they were terrific!) and conversation natur

I've deliberately not read this thread...may I just say, after just seeing that PST time....F-ing adorable, absolutely lovely.

There's really just never enough time to check out all the great bands, is there? But these mix exchanges really help to steer us all to our similar tastes, and wonderful songmakers we haven't happened to stumble across already. Thanks to every one of you mix-makers, because I've taken away a whole headful of bands and musicians I'll be looking into. As soon as I know that bweil has gotten my mix (by mail) and had the privilege of first listen, I'll put mine up as a download link for any who might be interested.

Makes me want to construct a pure Brinsley Schwarz mix but without JujuMan. I too am listening to a fabulous mix at this moment, from bweil. Enjoying the hell out of it on first listening! Details to follow.

This show was recorded. I'm not the taper, but a taper did tape. He just has a real (and busy) life, so the recording might not be up for a bit, but take heart, a recording was gotten!

Ok, well, sometimes I haven't had my coffee, you know? So, good point and I've changed my mind. But if people were to share via pm's, that'd be keen.

Yes but I expect you to be running through the sprinklers or sliding off the slip and slide into the mud! And none of this crap about "I stepped on a bee", whine whine whine. Also who ate all the damned steroid popsicles in the freezer??? -

I would prefer any who put up downloadables do it in this thread...then more of us can enjoy! And yes to putting as much music as will fit on an 80-minute disc. What a great way this is to hear new stuff!

Hi Jeremy! I swear I'll get around to replying to your pm soon! Miss ya! Oh, and count me in here, this sounds fun. I can go with either upload or mailed cd's. I too love getting fun mail for a change, instead of just bills and advertisements!

Why hello there Michelle! Everybody say hi to Michelle and show her your best manners and please, don't act like you usually do and scare the poor girl off! No but seriously Michelle this is the nicest buncha yahoos you'll ever meet. You got some great photos that night! I'll post my own eventually.

Indeed. Ramble away on any subject. Maybe this thread will turn a few more people on to The Mighty Boosh!

He just stood like that for the longest time, while playing! I admired his balance and in the privacy of my own home, confirmed my suspicion that not only can I not duplicate his feat of balance on one foot, I also cannot play guitar. Although the latter was something I was already fairly certain of. It's hopeless. I guess I'll never front my own band.

Holy Toledo, Andrew, there it is!!! See, I told you I passed that along! And now it rests in high esteem amongst the wild jumble that is The Loft, how cool is that?!?! I'm going to dig my copies out...it's been too long since I enjoyed those wonderful slices of lunacy! I'm sure the band has enjoyed them too.

Aw, Henry, this is the kind of story that just warms the cockles of my heart, whayever cockles are, and makes me love "my" band even more. I was listening to the webcast, choppy as it unfortunately was, and when Jeff made the "Kotche Power" comment I laughed out loud and had to find this thread to show my daughter and son the cool shirt he was referring to! We got such a kick out of that moment! HUGE congratulations to you and your new bride! What an auspicious beginning to your marriage!

Hi Choo Choo, Yes, it's very nice sound quality! If you know how to do BitTorrenting, have a look at bt.etree.org under "Wilco" and the date, 6-23-09 for this show. It's my son Brennan's recording, and he does good work. It was a fun show with some surprise song choices like the rowdy singalong of "Nothing'severgonnastandinmyway(again)". If you find BitTorrenting difficult, drop me a pm and I'll help you out.

Sure Clint, I'll send you a pm.

OW. Sometimes life is certifiably unfair! Want a copy of last Tuesday's show to make it all better?
