  1. I've looked the Tributes Forum over, Rob, and saw the nonloading pages you referred to, as well as the seriously outdated info contained in the forum. For these reasons, I've closed that forum until it can be retooled and revamped. When you see it next, it will all make sense! Then perhaps our members will feel inspired to create Tribute Vol. 3 of "I'm the Fan Who Loves You".
  2. Could this thread be any stupider? Let's see, to borrow a phrase from Craig Ferguson "What did we learn in the (thread) tonight, Craig?" Basically I think we learned that some people feel that getting rudely trampled, smashed, and otherwise personal-space-invaded (talking here about merely the space one's own body takes up, plus maybe an inch of air around it...too much?) is par for the course at a General Admission event. "To be expected". And that to expect people to behave in a way that wouldn't make their own mothers blanch at what a poor job they'd done civilizing their brats is to exp
  3. Wow. I'm really surprised at how this argument is being made. Look, it's fine if people like being up front enough that they are willing to wait in line a long time, often enjoying that experience and sharing it with friends. You don't have to feel the same. But then if those people wind up in front in a "first come, first served" sort of situation, which GA is, by definition, it is rude of others to crowd in until people are smashed. I'm all for everybody getting a good view and having a good time, but have respect for other peoples' personal space. If you wouldn't crowd in like that in anoth
  4. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Should concerts have a penalty box?
  5. And if there was still some doubt about who was at fault, we could run it in slo-mo or even freeze-frame..."See? Right there! He takes a slight step to the right and his elbow bumps her beer and spills it on her foot!" We'd need somebody to draw on circled bits and arrows. Wendy, you do circled bits, Tangara, you're in charge of little arrows.
  6. Please can I use the bathroom?
  7. Choir here. I read this story this morning and just sighed and shook my head, thinking how far we still have to go. It's still a very intolerant world.
  8. Let's knock off all the baiting and personal attacks, folks. Maybe re-read the VC Rules and Regulations, which specifically prohibit both of these behaviors. I'd hate to have to start slinging suspensions around. Can we manage civilty and basic respect for other opinions? This alpha-dog one-upmanship gets so tiresome... and it's so damned childish besides! Please stop being so insultingly dismissive of each other. That doesn't exactly make VC a fun place, y'know? Love, kidsmoke
  9. I was joking back, bobbob. Damn the difficulty of tone reading correctly on the internet!
  10. Well, I took that comment by Lou as being extremely tongue-in-cheek, not meant at all in seriousness. It can be so hard to read someone's tone in printed form, so I suppose ikol's tone could have been misconstrued as well. I'd have preferred a different choice of words. Fair enough?
  11. Oh, spare me, Bobbob...no matter how ikol "meant" this, his choice of wording was offensive. That's all for me.
  12. Really? I thought Lou made some good, solid points. I can understand some of the merits of both sides of this argument... as usual the best path will take both into account, I think. Important that we proceed with compassion and a long view. M. Chris, as we discussed, so very important that our country's infrastructure gets attention soon!
  13. Hey Paul, can you list what was played at soundcheck, pretty please? I know they did "I'll Fight" and "Country Disappeared" but I can't remember what else.
  14. What a magnificent show this was! Liam & Eliza were a terrific opener. I do have photos of Liam in his MJ jacket, not sure how good but I'll post if I have a decent one. We heard Country Disappeared during soundcheck, and it sounds pretty wonderful. I'm sure it'll make a setlist soon. What a great time we had in Kansas City, and in the very best of company. Must do it again very-soonish.
  15. HEY! *knock knock knock* Does anybody out there have Direct TV??? Our Smoky Mountain Video Lord, Jesse Hamm, needs a recording of the Farm Aid concert and has so far been unable to locate someone who has Direct TV who could record it. Please help if you can! I shall find some way to reward the person who assists in this. It will be something at least mildly wonderful! It's all in your hands, Via Chicago. Don't disappoint yer old admin. Thanks in advance. Pm me or JHamm.
  16. Clearly, the spider dragged it in there to finish it off.
