You know how sometimes Jeff's ability to put things into words...indefinable emotions, odd transitions in life...you know how sometimes a lyric of his can just take you by both shoulders and give you a hard "wake up!" shake, or take you by the neck and simply throttle you? Or other times, can reduce you to nearly (ok, actually) sobbing in recognition? Or those times when he seems to give a sly conspiratorial wink in your general direction, and it lands like a sucker punch because that line was clearly written with YOU in mind? Yeah, THOSE lyrics. Tell me which ones felt like the best over-th

Carol is a treasure! And hey, Carol, that banner now hangs in the loft.

So today I got a completely unexpected package in the mail, from our own lady C....hello Carol!!! Inside I found a beautiful mug created using photos from Solid Sound 2017 (SSF5). How beautiful is this? Here's the other side: Thank you Carol! Such a beautiful memento of such good times! And look, there we are, side by side holding up the Wilco "bubble" banner, in our "We're all in this together (Except Trump. He's a dick.)" tee shirts!

Hey you crazy man, stop driving 70 or 80 in torrential rain! Your friends need you in one piece. That rain sounds unbelievable. Let us know what home looks like when you get there. A friend's house in Ft. Myers made it through relatively unscathed so I hope you find yourselves equally lucky.

You've got your hands full. Be careful, and safe. Where are you? What part of FL?

A parent's job includes occasionally annoying, confusing, or embarrassing our young. And hopefully amusing them sometimes, too. Good job! I always remember the great story humor writer Dave Barry told of getting to borrow the weinermobile...the vehicle shaped like an Oscar Meyer hot dog....and using it to pick up his teen son from high school one day, calling son's name over the thing's p.a. (His boy leaped in, slammed the door and slumped down, and tersely commanded, "DRIVE. DRIVE!")

I've sent you a private message.

I thought it might have been you! Good. I'm currently trying to get through a book which I actually really like, but it isn't fast-paced and I find in these bizarre socio-political times that I'm spending my reading time wading through the news and various opinion pieces...which means I'm reading my book even more slowly and somewhat losing the plot! I need a snappier, faster-paced story to pull me out of my news-horror-hypnosis. Will Ready Player One be that book, do you think?

This date gets a gold star on the calendar of your life!

I seriously hope Floridians and others have enough time and the means to get out of her path.

If money were no object, that would make for some very nice rock tourism.

I'm the proud owner of Kurt's setlist from the L.A. show! Just a teensy bit embarrassed that I nabbed it after the main set....and then the encore numbers were on it, too! Kurt looked around, confused, when they came back onstage, and then spotted it where I'd pulled it over closer to me. Luckily he could still read it (and I pushed it back a bit!) He was cracking up at my embarrassment and reassured me it was ok, but "I have to check in now and then to know what I'm supposed to be playing!" Sorry Kurt!
