  1. Bruce now posts his handwritten setlists on his website http://brucespringsteen.net/news/index.html (scroll down to near bottom of page). Here's the show I was at the other night:

  3. That will be my first time seeing him in 2008 GA is the right call for sure. Show up before 5 for a chance at the pit lottery and go with no expectations. If you don't get lucky in the lottery, you won't be disappointed. Find a spot near the soundboard with lots of room, good sound and good sightlines. It will be a great show. If you do get lucky, it will be beyond great. See ya there.
  4. We were floored by the double-shot from WI&tESS. If you can make the last 2007 North American night (in Boston on Monday night), the potential is there for a crazy show.
  5. I'm now 2 for 3 on the pit lottery thing...... elbows on the stage for this (albiet way off to the side, but still) Albany, November 15: 1. Radio Nowhere 2. No Surrender 3. Lonesome Day 4. Gypsy Biker 5. Magic 6. Reason To Believe 7. Darkness 8. Candy's Room 9. Shes the One 10. Living in the Future 11. Promised Land 12. I'll Work For Your Love 13. 4TH of July, Asbury Park (Sandy) 14. E-Street Shuffle 15. Devils Arcade 16. The Rising 17. Last to Die 18. Long Walk Home 19. Badlands 20. Girls in their Summer Clothes 21. Thunder Road 22. Born To Run 23. Dancing in the Dark
  6. I saw them once in the afternoon at an outdoor festival. Wasn't as good as I was hoping it would be. I should have added The Weakerthans to my list, as well as Elvis, who somebody else has listed. Wilco was a given so I didn't list them. I also saw Brian Wilson a couple of years ago and I'd see him again in a heartbeat..
  7. I get an email from Amazon this am, suggesting I buy some music..... Despite the fact that I really don
  8. Some people went (not me): http://www.elviscostellofans.com/phpBB2/vi...asc&start=0 apparently at least somebody recorded some of it in some fashion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIBoab5xovQ&NR=1
  9. Not too surprising. They started blocking traffic from Canada about a month ago.
  10. Arcade Fire Josh Ritter Bruce Springsteen Hold Steady Prince
  11. So good it makes me cry (or maybe it's just really spicy?)
  12. "Some Velvet Morning" - Lydia Lunch and Rowland S. Howard (Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood) Haven't heard this in 10 years; no idea what made me think of it right now. But it's great.
  13. From The Stranger via Chromewaves, Craig Finn talks of great lyricists: You're one of my favorite lyricists. Who are some of yours? John Samson from the Weakerthans
  14. I forgot this one. Top 10 for sure.
  15. Surprised to see Mark, Don and Mel on that list
  16. A colleague at work bought a copy of Rolling Stone recently to read up on the latest comings and goings of Bryan Adams. She was confused and disappointed to find out the story was about some guy called Ryan.
  17. By my quick count, I'm number 10 looking for an invite. If I'm reading that earlier message right, I might get an invite as a previous oinker.... I don't suspect the 10 invites I had for Oink will be transferred but who knows....... Thanks A-man. Missed this.
  18. I'm looking at the "best of 07" thread and realize I haven't heard tons of that stuff including Spoon, Radiohead, Georgie James, New Pornographers, Okkervil River, Ricki Lee or Lucinda. There are tons more I haven't heard either but I'm pretty interested in these ones...... (I guess I could go to their site to get the Radiohead but you get the idea). Oink is gone. Demonoid is blocking Canadians (inset anti-canuck sentiment here). What do I do? Does it require an invite?
  19. I thought I had heard more new music this year than I apparently have (I'm going to have to figure out how to get past the Canadian block on demonoid). For now, probably, in reverse alpha order: Wilco Weakerthans Bon Iver Bruce Springsteen Andrew Bird
  20. Ryan clearly has the sharper fans. We've been owned here people.
