  1. Sorry for the brief dereliction in setlist duty, Kevin and other Madison show attendees, but I was otherwise occupied last night! Wonderstruck, you might say. Glad people had fun at the show...
  2. Hope you had the happiest of birthdays, Dunja! I still have some pictures I need to send you!
  3. Happy happy Sam! I will buy you a tasty bev tonight!
  4. Just so people don't freak out any more than they already have, reliable sources tell me that Wilco is NOT going to be performing at this Woody benefit on Oct. 17 despite what the NYT reported. They apparently got some erroneous information and decided to run with it. But no, Wilco will indeed be in Detroit that evening.
  5. Here's hoping you have a spectacular day!
  6. Here's the setlist, in correct order, for Night 2 at the Fillmore in Denver: Sunken Treasure (Jeff on acoustic) Side With The Seeds You Are My Face IATTBYH (traditional-w/intro "noise") Forget the Flowers Handshake Drugs Impossible Germany Sky Blue Sky Company In My Back A Shot in the Arm Jesus, etc. Too Far Apart Theologians Walken I'm The Man Who Loves You --------------------------------- What Light Hesitating Beauty California Stars (w/Richard Swift on keyboards and Casey Foubert on elec. guitar) Poor Places> Reservations --------------------------------- The Late Greats Red-Eyed and
  7. Just a few brief comments about the show tonight: -Not sure of the significance, if any, but for the first time that I heard on this tour, IATTBYH was played the "traditional" (album) way, with the electronic "noise" intro. At the other shows I've seen on this leg, the song just started with Jeff quietly strumming on his acoustic and no electro-effects whatsoever. -On and On and On really is turning into a terrific live number. I know more than a few people, myself included, were a little skeptical of the song in its early incarnation(s), but I really love the arrangement the band is using
  8. For what it's worth, a belated thanks to everyone who posted in this thread. I meant to respond earlier, but I was too busy eating fried squash blossoms, avocado and tangy frozen yogurt with some of my favorite people ever. Oh, and rolling down hills.
  9. Here was your setlist for Santa Barbara: Either Way You Are My Face IATTBYH Handshake Drugs Pot Kettle Black War on War Side With The Seeds A Shot in the Arm Impossible Germany Sky Blue Sky Too Far Apart Jesus, etc. Theologians Walken I'm The Man Who Loves You Hummingbird On and On and On ---------------------------------- Via Chicago> Spiders (Kidsmoke) ----------------------------------- California Stars Hate It Here The Late Greats The Lonely 1
  10. I put it in the other thread! Thanks again for the cured meats, bud.
  11. 12. His collaborations with Clifford Brown produced some wonderful music. RIP indeed.
  13. Haven't looked to see if they're on tour at that time, but if not, I'd hazard at least a guess that Low might wind up opening in Duluth (which would be cool). Get well soon, Nels!
  14. Too many August birthdays! I'm late on this one, but I hope it was a great day, Greg...
  15. I raise a giant, steamin' mug o' joe to you on this special day! See you soon, I hope...
  16. After pulling up a pretty decent seat like two days before the show, I went with a buddy of mine who's a pretty big Squeeze fan from back in the day. Part of the appeal for me was getting to see FoW, but I have to say, it was a pleasant surprise to hear how good Squeeze sounded. The only bad thing was the massive downpour that happened right as the show was letting out... Anyway, here was the Squeeze setlist for the Beacon show: Take Me I
  17. I seem to recall seeing the Watson Twins being listed as support on at least some of Magnolia's fall dates.
  18. Believe it or not, Samuel, the Dour Festival was the one show in this festival run that I really wanted to go to. Not just to hang out with you and Laurence again, but because I love that the town is called Dour and there's a festival there. A Dour Festival...get it? Haha. (In English, "dour" means sullen or gloomy, so I was imagining everyone there frowning a lot.) Again, glad you guys had a fun time. Now you have to make it to a Wilco show in the U.S.!
  19. Very nice photos, Samuel! Hope you had a good time at the festival, and I'm glad that you Belgians got to see Wilco twice in your country in three months. (Is Dour the name of the town where the festival was?)
  20. that's kathryn calder, carl's niece, who has been with them since their tour for twin cinema. i wouldn't say her voice sounds exactly the same as neko's, but she does a nice job filling in on neko's vocal parts when neko isn't with them and she adds other stuff to their sound as well. given neko's solo success, the NPs had to find a way to still be able to tour when she wasn't available if they wanted to continue developing as a band and kathryn definitely gives them that. (her own band, immaculate machine, is pretty cool as well.) i didn't get to see much of the NPs' set yesterday, which w

  22. good story, bridget. i definitely need to check out more of gary's stuff. i have the one record that everybody has, but haven't got much further than that. see you at the fillmore in sept., right?
  23. Hadn't heard about two shows before (though it probably makes sense). I had heard September sometime in terms of dates, though I'm not sure if if would be before or after ACL...
