  1. Yeah. That's probably what we were gonna do. I'm not really sure of where a good place to stop would be along the route, but we're going to take 2 days to get up there for sure
  2. We're all set with a room now, thanks to a person on this very forum.
  3. Oh yeah, we would definitely drive, though it would be about 14 hours- it'd still be cheaper than plane tickets. We talked about camping, but I don't know that I could physically do it. I saw some pretty cool places on AirBnB. The geography of the NE is really strange to me- it's hard to figure how far things are from the festival- is it very important to be close? When does the music start and stuff?
  4. Okay, so tentatively we're going to solid sound. HELP I have no idea what I am doing as far as booking a place to stay/anything about the area (or the NE in general!)
  5. saw Of Montreal this past Saturday. it was a fun drunk time.
  6. Hoping that means they come back through Tennessee in July... I really hate festivals.
  7. I get to cross one off my list in April! Ryan Adams is playing the Ryman in Nashville! Whoo-hoo! Also, so on board with seeing Radiohead. I'd love to also see a Jeff Tweedy Living Room show Television The Replacements Loose Fur Arcade Fire Ben Kweller That's about all I can think off... really. At least with bands that are still together. Bands not together anymore would be: Uncle Tupelo The Beatles (if only time travel was a real thing) That's it for me. 2014 saw a bunch crossed off my MUST SEE list. So grateful my husband helped me get there to see McCartney... that's a once in a
  8. Nothing is ever gonna top my very first Wilco show which was in NC. It was a complete surprise until the tickets showed up a couple weeks before the show (I was 18 at the time, fresh outta high school, had no job, and my dad surprised me with the tickets, he got them from a fellow VC'erBrianne and I had no idea). Anyway, tix came in the mail and I was already excited beyond all belief then I got an email from another VC'er jhammwho told me if I wanted to get anything signed I should bring something. I figured maybe we'd wait by the bus our something. So, we roll into town and meet this jhamm
  9. I think I saw more music in 2014 than the last 2 years combined. High points: paul mccartney from the 3rd row. made eye contact with him a couple times. heard every damn song i wanted to hear. between show and soundcheck by the end of the night heard 50 songs. gonna be very hard to top it. wilco 3 night run in my home state was also amazing. nashville (x2) and knoxville. jeff is the best. tweedy on my husband's birthday was also awesome saw some good punk shows, and almost died at one by way of trampling. survived, obviously. rufus wainwright in the atlanta symphony hall low points:
  10. they did the hootenanny in Knoxville most notably they did "the lonely 1" that night.
  11. Santa brought me AMF as well. I patiently waited to listen to a majority of the collection on vinyl, and I am so glad I did. Just now spinning side one, and so happy. Nice to kick back with some cocoa and listen to these tunes.
  12. nobody dies anymore gets stuck in my head the most. Followed closely by pigeons.
  13. Honeycombed gets my vote. It made me cry the first time I heard it live. It's such a sweet melody.
  14. So disappointed in my state. Hypothetical and imaginary children have more rights than women do in my state now basically. Sad.
  15. I don't think they were going to release it. Maybe, but I'm betting a bit of what they got paid for the taste of Chicago show went to the Ryman to release the recording.
  16. It's not that the Ryman is restrictive, but their licenceing fees to release recordings are outrageous.
  17. I told my dad wilco was labeled "dad-rock" and he said he'll let them be "daughter-rock" because he's not going to another Wilco show!
  18. FINALLY! A road case release that I have been at!
  19. Make sure to turn the brightness on your phone down.
  20. He had 2 different outfits on in Knoxville. And he wore 2 different shirts at the ryman. United pressing plant shirt on night 1. Can we talk about Glenn's hair now *leisurly strolls to RSBF thread*
  21. If you guys wanna come trick or treat at my house we've got like 10 lbs of candy left over from the Aquarium Halloween party. My costume this year was a heavy metal drummer
  22. I never ever thought I would see the singer in my favorite band play charades with Obi-Wan Kenobi. Very cool. And hysterical. Loved both performances.
  23. I saw road case mics up in Knoxville. Hope they got the Ryman shows. I didn't pay attention to look if they had mics up there.
  24. He played it on a couple numbers in Knox last night- it sounds awesome. Just the same as it did with Tweedy. Very cool to see him playing some different guitars.
  25. Oh also, I made this little guy for Jeff cos he used to have a pretty cool collection of vinyl toys, so I thought he'd like it, and it ended up on his amp. Seriously though, what a show. I don't know what else to say about it. Hoping some more pictures surface at some point. There were a lot of photographers there.
