Wilco — 10/22/14, Nashville, TN (Ryman Auditorium; Night Two)

Nothing will probably ever top this show for me. Ever. I think it depends on the crowd a lot. The first time I saw Wilco at the Ryman everyone in the balcony stood. Then in 2011 I got yelled at for standing in the balcony. You're at a rock show, you stand. Period. But that debate is not worth getting into. -
Wilco — 10/23/14, Knoxville, TN (Tennessee Theater)

Knoxville was good. Nothing will probably ever top the Ryman shows that preceded it though. Where I was in the pit was very strange. There were very few young people in the pit- lots of older affluent looking folks. Many seats were also vacant... it made for a sort of strange time. Not many people around me were very into it. The guy to my left just stood there and kinda glared then left halfway through the show. I wish that folks would have been allowed to come down and fill the empty spots, but they had security on the entrance and you had to have a wristband to get back in. Lame. Very tic -

I think that last night was my favorite Wilco show since my very first Wilco show. Wow. Just wow. -
Except for the entitled old lady and her ipad... She probably does not know about VC though. It is odd that the shows didn't sell out, though there was a lot of other competition in town for folks money. Plus, Jeff was at the Ryman solo only 4 months ago. Either way, I thought the shows we amazing, and so were the people. Only a few silly drunks and things like that, nothing that could spoil the show.

The Ryman Auditorium - Nashville, TN - 10/21/14

John was definitely adding bass on Promising. Wow what a night. Thrilled we get a chance to see them 2 more times! TN WILCO trifecta! It was awesome to see so many folks from the board last night and even a VC vet from a long long time ago that I never thought I would meet. Very cool. Lots of hugs. I can't even begin to fathom what tonight's show is going to entail. That solo acoustic unplugged Misunderstood had me crying. So amazing. I'm glad it ended up on YouTube. Interesting note; the security made a point before doors to actually say: "take all the still pictures you want". Has Wilc -
Wilco will prob go on 8:00-8:15. So are doors 6:30? I want to be 1st in to get a print!
-
So, I missed it on the actual day, but Thursday I saw Paul McCartney and it was amazing. Beyond amazing.
-
Yeah! You'll only be a couple seats down from us! I think there's only 8-9 seats on row BB cos there's 12 on AA and BB is a very small row.
-
At work on the radios we ask what's your 20 to find out where folks are, so it kinda tickled me to see that was the record title.
-
I think you are reading a bit much into the title. I was disappointed too that the majority of the tunes we have heard before. At least they won't be kinda crappy bootlegs? Plus, as rabid as we are on here it's not super suprising.
-
Oh! See I didn't look at it like they added the EPs and stuff- I see that now I can split it up. That makes more sense. I do hope you are right and more true "unreleased" stuff gets out- even if in road case form. Though, truth be told I feel like a bad wilco fan cos I have yet to buy a single road case release. I said I wouldn't until it was a show I was actually at.
-
Sandy- what are your seat numbers for night 1? You might be right in front of my hubs and me. We're Sec 1 row C seats 3&4
-
Found another video from this show the other day. The person that recorded apparently did so right over my shoulder. Does this mean I offically had a duet with JT? http://youtu.be/WfTP2TnMm5c

Thanks! Here's a photo of mine. #812- though I sort of wanted #825 cos that would be Jeff's birthday, and a ridiculous coincidence.
-
Also, I'm sort of hoping for just one hatch print- more economical, and I'm running out of space in my house on the walls! Anybody doing Thursday night in Knoxville? We're going for the Wilco Tennessee Trifecta!
-
See you guys there! Third row night 1 and front row night two! VC meet up after doors open in the lobby?
-
It kinda bugs me the amount of live tracks that are on this thing. I'm still gonna buy it, and I know they'll be great versions, but with the wealth of material they have that has not been heard outside the loft, you'd think there would be a few less songs that we know already

I'm the proud owner of a Tweedy Martin now.

I'm not a fan of haunted houses either, but I like watching the shows on TV that explain how people put them together and stuff. I got lost in one when I was a kid, and after that decided they weren't for me.

Posts like the ones about how this is a car record really make me want to get my driver's side speaker fixed so that I can appreciate it more. I only get the right front speaker and the back ones, so it's a pain.

Sending big vibes, last cigarettes.

I will check it out. I've never wanted an instrument as much as I want that guitar.
-
I got a tweet from jeff last night on Twitter.

Thank you for posting. What a neat video! Cool that they were pressed at United. Though, I guess the majority of stuff released on vinyl is pressed at United. Another cool thing going for my home state of TN.

All these interviews are great!
