foolnrain97
wow, you were right! (about the Either way stuff) I can't wait until the chicago show.
Gobias Industries
The sound is pretty tight. Glenn's snare is pretty crazy high in the mix. Just his snare, not anything else from the drumset. Not that I'm complaining.
tongue-tied
was jeff trying to put me to sleep?
W(TF)
Pretty good performance, Nels was note perfect... John's grown a beard.
SlowBurn68
I can't wait for 9/
DAngerer09
Definitely not the song I'd use to get someone into the band. I agree, although I enjoyed the performance.
sean Patrick
is it me or has john lost weight? maybe its from all the punk rock jumping.that sounds so geeky.....sigh......
Wilco Worshipper
That was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL...I'm still crying
OOO
If you check the songlengths on Sky Blue Sky, the Tonight Show format doesn't give them the choices of the louder songs. Great performance!!
mountain bed
I can't believe how this song has grown on me. Moreso than any of the others, this one took quite awhile for me to dig. But now there it is. I'm diggin' it.
yankhotelfox
Pretty good performance, Nels was note perfect... John's grown a beard. Nels is amazing. I just moved to Vermont a few months ago and got to talk to him after the Shelburne show (6/29, also my 30th B'day). Tonight he was right on. I'm not crazy about the song choice though....Hate it here would have been cool.
aricandover
I really like the song, but this performance, like most of their talk show appearances was pretty weak.
bobbob1313
Jeff didn't sound very good. Sounded bored...
aricandover
Jeff didn't sound very good. Sounded bored... pretty typical for talk show performances. it seems like he's afraid to get into it, and sadly comes across as milquetoast. it's a good thing they actually kick ass in concert. W(TF)
Jeff didn't sound very good. Sounded bored... You have to give the guy credit, he doesn't put on any airs for the cameras. He sang it like he did in the studio. I agree it wasn't the best song choice, but so what? Do you really think the band care at this stage about attracting legions of new fans? They do this shit because it's in their contract.
OOO
I think its possible that they get a thrill out of being on the Tonight Show.
sweetheart-mine
Jeff didn't sound very good. Sounded bored... must be hard not to be bored after being in the same building as jay leno for more than one minute. i thought they did great, all things considered. my first choice would have been "side with the seeds," but "either way" was not a disappointment. W(TF)
I think its possible that they get a thrill out of being on the Tonight Show. No doubt. But doesn't mean they're plotting like a bunch of schoolmates how they're gonna "blow everybody away".

Neil can pull it off but not many do.
Chendizzle
Thoughts upon watching: "Yes! It's not What Light!"Quickly followed by "Goddammit, it's Either Way." I was really hoping for You Are My Face or Impossible Germany, either of which could have been shortened to fit into the allowed time slot.
dondoboy
I expected them to play "Territorial Pissings"
zebra
I can't wait for 9/12 Me too. I went there today and found my seats. It's close to the stage, on an aisle, and near the restrooms.
Gobias Industries
I'll deal, it was a good performance at least.

Neil can pull it off but not many do. That's a good point. And Tweedy is similar-- he's both a great songwriter and a cool rock star. After being cool for a long time, it gets old.. maybe he'd like to be more recognized for his songcraft now. JM2C
