Sir Stewart
Sorry, we were still building up, weren't we.
Synthesizer Patel
Sorry, we were still building up, weren't we. yeah, actually, sorry; we should build on this (one more nugget of fact a day) right up until the release date - the uk release date, which will be next year probably. see how far this can go - it's gotta have more mileage than the ryan adams and vw ads threads, surely. I would surely hope so! ryan adams was in a VW ad? He was refering to the ridiculous threads for Ryan Adams' new album and when Wilco did the VW ads.
Synthesizer Patel
He was refering to the ridiculous threads for Ryan Adams' new album and when Wilco did the VW ads. No , I was talking about the thread in which people complained about Ryan Adams selling out when he did adverts as a Violent Wrangler, who rode out to the Joshua tree they burnt Gram Parsons's corpse, and pissed all over it. I think Analogman must have moved it?
Synthesizer Patel
Has anyone posted the new trailer on youtube anywhere? I can't see it, unless I'm being blind; so here it is: I'm getting more and more excited about this. I knew from the moment I heard the choice of title for the film that it would be good, but it just keeps looking better and better.

froggie
a journo friend of mine heard a promo copy of the album and the verdict on tweedy's Simple twist of fate is "wonderful, very basic and very tender"

jimtweedy1977
I thought maybe this would be an interesting effort, but bland collection of covers. However, I'm definitely looking forward to this now. I especially dig Cat Power's cover of Stuck Inside of Mobile...
stooka
Very Nice!! Thanks. Tweedy has a great voice. I liked Cat Power's and Jim James, too. I can't wait to hear Tom Verlaine!!!!!!
Kalle
I actually really loved Jeff's cover, his voice definately makes this song.
lost highway
Jeff did a pretty faithful cover. Jim James can't seem to make his voice sound bad no matter what he does. Cat Power really goes for the Dylan accent, the only thing I didn't like was the super compressed Dire Straits guitar playing on the verses.
JerseyMike
Jim James can't seem to make his voice sound bad no matter what he does He does an amazing job with all that reverb, but when listening to thier live album, I noticed he can't really hit the notes. No biggie, though, because that reverb has become an essential part of thier sound.
