Kalle
It's Just That Simple was played! Here it is from the Dallas show on Friday. http://www.sendspace.com/file/rzkwma
OOO
Thanks for the upload, kalle! After listening to it, I'd say it should get quite a bit more play than once every 12 years.

H to the ickle
I wonder if this is in response to all the requests for it at the Millennium Park show. Also, it's great.
froggie
I wonder if this is in response to all the requests for it at the Millennium Park show apparently john's family were there
brokendowntele
Thanks for the link. Sounds great, I love Nels' work on the lap steel and John's "Danko-esque" vocals. I guess this shows that Jeff is finally secure in his role as primary songwriter.
yermom
Excellent! My daughter is waltzing across the floor to it now! Thanks Kalle!
oceanman
That's to all the haters of this song. This tune has remained in my top 5 Wilco tunes to this day!
jcroach
Wow. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I was just listening to AM this weekend while building my son's swingset. Good stuff.
craigwinn
This is really cool. But how come Jeff's voice manages to drip with sarcasm even when he says something as simple as "Thank you, John"?
giraffo
This is really cool. But how come Jeff's voice manages to drip with sarcasm even when he says something as simple as "Thank you, John"? I thought it sounded pretty sincere...

zebra
Without having to dig out my album, can someone answer this for me? Who is singing on this track? I ask because on both versions it doesn't sound like Jeff. Is it John?
aricandover
yes, it's John
W(TF)
John wrote and sang this track. Very nice performance, the band sounded really good and John obviously doesn't suffer from 'Stage Fright'. It sounded like some people in the crowd were singing along too. I still think "parlay" is a word that shouldn't be allowed in song lyrics, but hey. It's a good song.
jhh4321
weird how much that sounds like a (the) Band song i never really enjoyed this on AM but I have to say I kind of like this rendition

Then again, Tweedy needed this to be "his band", and if not for him I doubt there'd even be a Wilco post-'99 or so. The Band had Rick, Richard and Levon each capable of great lead vox. And maybe that's where they'll always be rated higher than Wilco. I do think John's backing harmonies are a huge and perhaps underrated asset in Wilco's sound. Same for his bass playing. Huh? I don't think Jeff's any kind of a nazi. He's the 'center' of Wilco and steers the creative forces behind the world's best rock band. I honestly don't think Wilco could have survived its' ups and downs without Jeff at the helm. Isn't that what I said?
