the call at the end of the BYU - Washington game was absolutely terrible. There was no excessive celebration at all, and the refs decided the game on that call....

Also, I think Michigan - ND is going to be a good game. Both teams will be trying to make a statement, and it could end up making or breaking a season.

That rule has got to be changed or modified. How is flipping a ball up excessive celebration? They're totally taking all the fun out of the game not to mention changing the outcome. Ridiculous.

Looks like ECU is the hot team this year, at least so far. Another coach who's left SC and become successful.

I'm proud of my Bobcats today. Put a little scare into the buckeyes.

Hats off to the Bobcats. I still have yet to see a single play of Buckeye football this year--was coaching my daughter's soccer team this afternoon and that's going to be a major scheduling conflict all season--might finally have to break down and get a DVR. Don't know what was up with tOSU today--looking ahead, not really expecting a fight out of OU--but it sounds like they deserved to have a little scare put into them and they're lucky to get out of there with the W.

In other news, damn those refs for screwing up my Washington over BYU upset pick. I actually wanted to pick E. Carolina again, but I wasn't confident they could pull it off 2 weeks in a row. Shows what I know.

Mizzou to improve the Heisman 'View'

By MIKE DeARMOND

The Kansas City Star

COLUMBIA--Missouri will send out 2,500 3-D black View Masters with photo disks of quarterback Chase Daniel to Heisman Trophy voters and other national media.

The View Master comes in a box with the logo of the Missouri Tigers and the words, naturally enough, Mizzou

This kind of stuff just seems ridiculous to me. Heismans are nice to win, but in an ideal world you shouldn't have to campaign for awards like you're running for president. Sheesh.

Then again, I just listened to a friend of mine explain his theory that OSU deliberately laid an egg against OU in order to dramatize for the media the effect of not having Beanie Wells out on the field. For their sake I hope that explanation is true, cuz otherwise I have a feeling they're gonna get f'd up by USC this weekend. :unsure

Whatever happens, I think winning on Saturday is going to sway voters a lot more than any 3D viewers. If Wells pushes OSU over the top or if Sanchez has a perfect game, look for those guys to shoot up in the Heisman polls, no View Masters needed.

I'm hearing the Arkansas/Texas game is going to be moved to 9/27 due to Ike.

Really? Will the weather in Austin really be that bad Saturday afternoon? I know they are talking about moving the start time up for Stanford/TCU here in Fort Worth. It all seems a little too precautionary to me, but maybe it is the prudent thing to do. I don't know.

I think it's more for logistics. Thousands of people will be evacuating. They aren't going to want a bunch of people traveling to that area that don't need to be on the roads.

That's what I get for not paying attention to the weather the last couple of days. If Ike is going to be as bad as they say, and both Texas and Arkansas have that weekend off, then it's probably the only smart decision to make.

I guess we'll see.

ACL fest is that weekend, so hotels will be a pain in the ass. We're suppose to know something by 6pm.

I imagine that USC beating Ohio State by two or three touchdowns this Saturday will ensure that the Trojans will always be in the BCS title game talk for the rest of the year, even after they lose to some shitty Pac-Ten team late in the year.

Does it really matter who's in the BCS title game "talk"? The only thing that matters is the last BSC standings. USC hasn't been to a BCS title game it didn't deserve to be at yet. Sure, they've been in consideration towards the end of the season for the past couple of years after losses to mediocre teams, only because they've been a pretty dominant force in recent history...but they've only actually gone to the title game in their undefeated seasons.

I'll watch ND when they join a conference.

Or to catch a glimpse of Mike Golic's son, whichever comes first.

This statement confuses me to no end. Why would anyone want to catch a glimpse at Golic's son? Now if Golic's son was about to lay a crushing hit on that weenie Greenburg, I'm interested, otherwise meh.
