quarter23cd
I still have not pulled the trigger on Live Warpaint. That album has just not worked for me yet. I would like to hear "Torn and Frayed" however. I will probably still pick it up at some point because I always end up getting whatever the Crowes put out.I haven't picked up the live version of this yet, though I will go out on a limb and say that Warpaint clicked for me better than anything they've done since Amorica. Moss
I wonder if he still has that Gold Top that Rich gave him. Good question. I have not actually heard whether they get along at all. I assume they don't "speak". I don't know how you give up a guitar like that. Even though the gold tops are supposed to be the cheap Les Pauls, painted to cover the inferior wood. Analogman
He gave it to him the first time he joined the band. It was an old one, I think.
calvino
http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=525232Â Someone uploaded a London show from a few days ago. I wonder if the Black Crowes are going let Etree seed their shows again or if this show will be pulled soon.

Moss
Wow, this is a new one for me. Not sure where or when this was recorded but enjoy (download the mp3), sorry it could not be a FLAC Analogman:Â Black Crowes doing Kokomo
mjpuczko
that was from chicago, halloween. forget the year. 2005 maybe? the year before they dressed up as ac/dc for the first few songs. more info from crowesbase
Analogman
They called themselves "The Bitch Boys". I've never really heard the show, nor do I want to. I get the feeling they were making fun of The Beach Boys there. Which is a shame, as there are probably a few BB songs they could do pretty well.
mjpuczko
i don't think it was a joke at all. maybe kokomo was but the ac/dc was a definite tribute.
Analogman
I don't know - maybe I am going by things I read about the show.

Just havin' a good time, and all. That's kind of what I thought or at least hoped. From the one song I heard, they obviously spent some time learning it well and not half ass. Analogman
From Jambands.com: The Black Crowes Stuck Inside Utopia Tour The Black Crowes will hit the road this August for the Stuck Inside Utopia tour. The shows are said to feature over two hours of music culled from the forthcoming new release and the band’s deep catalogue. The run will kick off with an appearance at Vienna, VA’s Wolf Trap/The Filene Center on August 25 and will come to a close October 3 at Atlanta’s Chastain Park Amphitheatre. Along the way the group will play three shows with Levon Helm: Boston, 8/27, Atlantic City, NY, 8/29, Central Park Summerstage, 9/2. The Crowes recently record a new studio album in the drummer’s famed barn and will also play a series of dates with The Band visionary this July. Truth & Salvage Co. will support the group for most of its late summer run.  The Black Crowes: Before the Frost... and …Until The Freeze Earlier this year the Black Crowes invited fans to join them at Levon Helm Studios while they recorded a new album. As it turns out, the Crowes had enough material for two discs. Before the Frost... is set for a September 1 release and will offer 11 songs including "Good Morning Captain," "I Ain’t Hiding" and "Houston Don’t Dream About Me." Folks who purchase the disc will be given a download code for a second release, …Until The Freeze, which presents nine songs, eight originals and a cover of Stephen Stills' "So Many Times." The band will gig steadily this summer, with their next gig at New Hampshire's Hampton Beach Casino on June 18.

Moss
I Ain't Hiding (Free legal download from The Black Crowes Official Website). Wow...not sure what to think...kind of starts out like "Girlfriend in a coma" and proceeds to sound like disco or something. Interesting. I wonder if the new album is going to sound like that.
Analogman
I think it sounds like a Rolling Stones Some Girls era disco song. I don't care for it. I don't think the new album(s) will sound like that. At least, the songs from the one show we heard did not sound like that.
mjpuczko
listening now. this doesn't sound anything like i expected. especially from their comments about it being more country/organic. i kinda dig it actually. edit:that solo around 3:40 kills!  i like this quite a bit. odd sound for them though. calvino
Definitely agree about the guitar solo at the 3:40 mark. I like the bass run at the end, too. Good tune. Thanks for the link.
