TheMaker
At least it's nice that some of you supported me: thanks, Louie, cryptique, and TheMaker Don't thank me too hard, Mr. Heartbreak. The rest of your bullet points had me thinking that you might have the worst taste in music of anybody on the board. Oh, here's another one I got yelled at for saying in another thread months ago: Prince is horrible, a few individual songs notwithstanding. Gobias Industries
Prince is horrible, a few individual songs notwithstanding. That's not too blasphemous.

PopTodd
Thin Lizzy is one of the 5 greatest bands in the history of rock and roll. Up there with the Beatles and the Stones.
Sir Stewart
and as i mentioned to Mr. Heartbreak in a PM, there's a difference between Rap & Hip Hop too...I'm two days late on this but the correct answer is "rap is something you do, hip hop is something you live." CortezTheKiller
Damn, it's nice to see more actual fun on this thread. I really did have to bail out of here yesterday for work reasons, but I don't want anyone to feel left out, so:  I really did have to bail out of here yesterday for work reasons, Cortez, but I couldn't seem to tear myself away. Your post was pretty damn funny, though, I'll give you that.  Many people over the years have tried to sell me on the poetic merits of rap, and I was just responding to solace's point about poetry. I know a little bit about it from my studies (and from my own work over the last 30 years), and I don't like the "rap" poetry style at all. On a critical level, I don't think it qualifies as anything other than "lyrics." In any case, chompsky and solace and I have all taken our arguments into the PM world, and everyone is cool now, so please resume your regularly scheduled program ... of ragging on everybody and everything. This response has changed my opinion of your posts - for the better.
PopTodd
The single-most beautiful vocal in the history of pop/rock music is Art Garfunkel's lead turn on "Bridge Over Troubled Waters".

bobbob1313
This might not be a blaspheme, but it's definitely sort of nuts: I would be willing to take a full year or more off the end of my life to go back to see Bruce Springsteen in the late 70's.  Also: I've never seen a video of Matt Sharp with Weezer where he didn't look like a total fucking prick.
