bobfrombob
I have no idea who owns the rights to this stuff and who profits (or even how much say Billy has in any of it) but I think they pressed 5000 copies of Kicking Television for RSD at $60 or $70 a crack. Depending on your cut, that could be some serious money. Anyway, I have no real opinion on how they do it, just make sure you do it on vinyl.
LouieB
Well considering they took a few years to actually sell off KT, I am not sure they made any money on it. Heck there may still be copies floating around out there. And who is ordering them to press this on vinyl anyway? I thought we "heard" they were, but now it doesn't appear so. The only thing in the package that seems to be coming is the third disk of outtakes, etc. I have all the rest. LouieB

LouieB The demos may be pretty close to this set: http://wilcoarchive.com/Wilco%20Bragg%20-%20Mermaid%20Ave%20Demos/. Which anyone who wants it already has. Hopefully I'll find something about this box that makes me want to buy it, but I am really struggling to see the appeal of it. It's not like what we already have needs an audio upgrade. --Mike
foousic
Yeah, honestly if it's not on vinyl, whats the point? Same records, with demos we've heard, on CD.
dagwave
Let's hope it really IS EVERYTHING and that they don't pull this BS on us again 10 more years down the road. LouieB c'mon, man, that never happens.
you ever seen a ghost?
looks like this has been pushed to March 27. i'm about tired of this shit. -justin

Wilco75
i bought man in the sand awhile back on ebay for $5.00, but it didn't have a original case with it.

Vacant Horizon
jay farrar says on a New Multitudes preview video that he was approached by Bragg before Wilco. Farrar's project comes out in a few weeks. from what i hear, farrar only has two songs on it. yim yames has no business at all being on it.
Shakespeare In The Alley
why not? there's more than two farrar songs, btw. the deluxe edition is an entire second disk of just jay and i believe will. album's pretty good. not mermaid avenue 1 good, but i'm impressed. i'll probably go ahead and buy the deluxe edition. Albert Tatlock
http://www.billybragg.co.uk/blog/?p=228 "To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Woody’s birth, Nonesuch Records will be releasing ‘Mermaid Avenue: The Complete Sessions’, a four disc set, comprising of remastered versions of Mermaid Avenue Volumes I and II as well as a new collection of 17 songs from the original sessions, ‘Mermaid Avenue Volume III’. The fourth disc will contain ‘Man in the Sand’, Kim Hopkins’ 1999 film, which documents the collaboration between Woody, Wilco and me."
augurus
AV Club reports on Mermaid Avenue III with the title Billy Bragg, Wilco still milking Mermaid Avenue sessions for all they’re worth.Stirratt's response on Twitter: Still milking Woody? 3 albums in 14 years, no tour for any record. Almost no promo when the records came out. Really?

Kim Bodnia
This is pricey at 34,99 + shipping!
you ever seen a ghost?
that's really not a bad price for 3 CDs and 1 DVD, plus i'm assuming some sort of booklet. at any rate, once things are finalized, i'm sure it will drop a few bucks. plus, if you get it from amazon, you won't have to pay for shipping. -justin
Kim Bodnia
I didn't know there was a dvd, is it live footage?
choo-choo-charlie
The DVD is "Man in the Sand," the documentary about making the album. Right next to the B&N price is "Spend $25 and get free shipping," so the $34.19 would include shipping. Amazon lists it at $34.99. I wonder what Nonesuch will ask. you ever seen a ghost?
those prices will go down at least a couple of bucks i bet. i'm just fucking frustrated that this thing keeps getting pushed back. -justin
