IRememberDBoon
DAMN! I thought the first song was awesome but this tops it and the video as well. GREAT IMOhttp://vevo.ly/159TCYB
ripthisjoint908
Wow. Very impressed. Fantastic song and video. So Berlin-esque. Thanks for posting!
uncool2pillow
Bump!! This LP is fantastic. AV Club's review is pretty good. http://www.avclub.com/articles/david-bowie-the-next-day,93543/ I might listen to it for a week straight.
Mr. Heartbreak
Not much point in creating a new thread for this question, so I'll just pose it here: what is your favorite Bowie album?I'm not counting greatest hits collections like ChangesOne. Just normal releases. For me, it's Low. Such a cool album. I'm a big Eno fan, and Eno is all over this thing, especially the second half: writing, singing, playing multiple instruments. Love it. jff
Not much point in creating a new thread for this question, so I'll just pose it here: what is your favorite Bowie album? There are so many that I love, but Hunky Dory will probably always be my favorite.
GtrPlyr
Probably Ziggy Stardust, though Hunky Dory and Station to Station are right up there. Low and Heroes too for that matter.
LouieB
I would go with Low and Heros myself, but I am not that big a Bowie fan. (My daughter is though.) Low is the one LP folks look for when we sell LPs at record sales. LouieB
suites
Let's Dance Joking but my friend thinks that no one heard of him until that came out but he thinks the same about the Who and Tommy. I really love them all and listen to Sound and Vision Box set all the time.
ripthisjoint908
Heroes and Ziggy. I'm a big Bowie fan and am pleased with the new record. Check it out if you haven't already!
The Inside of Outside
Ziggy Stardust has always been my favorite Bowie record, though his Station to Station - Low - Heroes run was pretty incredible. Rumor has it that he is about to announce a tour.
Moss
Just got the new one and have not even busted the shrink wrap. Fave is probably Ziggy but I have always had a soft spot for Aladdin Sane. I saw him only once on the much maligned Glass spider tour so would love to get another opportunity, although I didn't think it was that bad. Loved seeing Frampton busting out the Rebel rebel riff. anthony
Ziggy, for me. But I do have a non-ironic soft spot for Let's Dance. BTW, anyone else love the Bowie covers on Life Aquatic from Seu Jorge? Too good..
Muzzle of Dan
Ziggy, for me. But I do have a non-ironic soft spot for Let's Dance. BTW, anyone else love the Bowie covers on Life Aquatic from Seu Jorge? Too good.. +1 for the covers in Life Aquatic. Super Duper Awesomeness going on there. As for albums - I've always really liked Hunky Dory.
Fritz
I listened to Stage fairly much non-stop when I was in year 8 & 9 in high school. I still have a soft spot for it.
twoshedsjackson
The new album's getting better with each listen. As for my favorite, it'd be a tough choice between Hunky Dory and The Man Who Sold The World (can't believe no one else has mentioned that one!). Ziggy's up there too. And yes, anthonyc007, I also love the stuff on The Life Aquatic.
uncool2pillow
Way too hard for me to pick a fav. Love, love , love the Seu Jorge covers!!
PopTodd
Hunky Dory, with Ziggy Stardust not too far behind. And I have never heard any of the Berlin trilogy (save the couple of radio songs). I really need to remedy that.
uncool2pillow
I love the Berlin trilogy. Lodger was, by far, the weakest entry. It's good, but Scary Monsters was much better, IMO.
mountain bed
No love for Diamond Dogs? I probably like Ziggy the most, but Dogs is pretty damn solid.
uncool2pillow
Diamond Dogs has a few brilliant songs, but a share of clunkers,
Analogman
I have the following albums, but I don't think I have listened to any of them in a long time. That's about it for me.Space Oddity (1969)The Man Who Sold the World (1970)Hunky Dory (1971)The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (1972)Aladdin Sane (1973)Diamond Dogs (1974)
anthony
^ That is a pretty good run of LPs in a 5 year period
Fritz
Isolated vocal tracks for Starman and Five Years. This is pretty cool. http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2013/07/15/david_bowie_s_isolated_vocal_tracks_for_ziggy_stardust_hear_a_cappella_versions.html?fb_ref=sm_fb_share_blogpost
Winston Legthigh
Only because we have three free months of Showtime (I literally have never met anyone who has a Showtime subscription) - and I spent a few minutes of going through their On Demand catalogue - I found this: http://www.sho.com/sho/reality-docs/titles/3396645/david-bowie-five-years#/index It was an interesting 60 minute documentary. Check it out if you can.
Chez
^^^ The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago had an incredible Bowie installation at the end of last year. Stunning both visually and aurally.
