jjm33
If there are some music buffs here at Mass Mocz that can chime in with a live set list (I would but I expect I will not know many of the songs), that would be great!
Guest Jules
I've heard they opened with The Boys Are Back In Town. Have also played Dead Flowers, Simple Twist of Fate and Ripple. Fuck me.
Reed
Follow @nyctaper-- he's doing play by play.

Mr. Heartbreak
I am already looking forward to a recording of this surfacing! Cinnamon Girl? Damn...
uncool2pillow
Do you think Nels would faithfully reproduce a one note guitar solo? Â Hard to imagine.
remphish1
In my 16 years of seeing wilco this is the only time I've been bored! Don't mean to be a kill joy! Traveled too far for all covers
Mr. Heartbreak
Maybe they will do a bunch of their own catalogue tomorrow night?I don't know, I saw them cover Don't Fear the Reaper years ago and it was killer. I wish I was at this show right now...
Guest Jules
Me too. I think they're doing a "normal" show tomorrow, right? Seems like this would be fun.
remphish1
Me too. I think they're doing a "normal" show tomorrow, right? Seems like this would be fun.Unfortunately I will not be here tomorrow!!!! Â Ps and the tease of playing new Madrid early was beyond cruel!
Guest Jules
They're playing "Get Lucky". Just dance.
Robby
Psychotic Reaction??? OMG.  I believe the original version by The Count Five included a harmonica. Wonder if Jeff played it on their cover.
Mr. Heartbreak
I haven't seen New Madrid played since 1999, so I'm still pretty jealous. Hope it gets better.
Robby
It's funny how these songs have a bit of "Jeff History" to them. I think he sang Peace, Love & Understanding with Golden Smog & I know Uncle Tupelo covered Dead Flowers. Not really making any point here - I guess I just a had shitty day today and really wish I was there tonight. Would love to have heard And Your Bird Can Sing. Hope this gets recorded but I suppose there would be legal issues if Wilco sold the performance like they do with some of there other shows.

Wilco also did Color Me Impressed, and UT butchered Cinnamon Girl once or twice.I saw Cheap Trick and Blue Oyster Cult both opening for Aerosmith over the last few years, and they kind of sucked. I suspect Wilco's covers of Surrender and Don't Fear the Reaper were better than what the original bands can deliver these days...I'll be psyched if they break out even one of those classic rock tunes in Tampa next week! choo-choo-charlie
James Alley Blues is still one of my favorite Wilco cover tunes. Loved those versions they played in their live sets 1997-1999. Â Just found a clip of And Your Bird Can Sing:Â Â
Wendy
This opens up a whole new territory for cover requests in LR shows. Oh boy.
Wendy
I believe he taped the show. Good! He's awesome.  Just listened to a great YLT song he recorded from Maxwell's. http://www.nyctaper.com/   Beautiful matrix.
Mr. Heartbreak
And looks like they weren't done after Kingpin: encores include Thank You Friends, The Weight, and Roadrunner.
