I think cheesecake is overrated. The only cake I really like is German sweet chocolate. Oh, and also this amazing coconut cake that Zingerman's used to make, but they haven't had it for a while now. I loves me some pie, but it has to be good pie, and there's a lot of bad pie in the world. My father is a pie master ... so I get to have top-notch pie every so often, and it's nearly always better than cake.

Has anyone heard both of the torrents currently up at etree? I'm curious as to the pros and cons of each.

I'm with you on SBS, faxman ... I didn't love it when it came out, though I thought it was OK. It totally changed for me after hearing a lot of the songs live (both in person and through recordings).

Hate to see one of the greats go. I am in awe of these guys' talent, and he was among the best.

You'd be surprised how far back a lot of the "kool-aid drinking" members of this board go with Tweedy. I can claim 1990, and so can a number of others. Some of us love the new album, some of us don't. Our long tenure doesn't make us "better at Wilco" than anyone else. It just means we found out about them early on. Some of the most knowledgeable, devoted Wilco fans I know are people who only came on board after hearing Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. I don't want to minimize how much this obviously sucks for you financially, and my comment was way too flippant in that regard. My underlying point, though, is it's ridiculous to expect an artist not to reschedule a show simply because some of the fans go to considerable hassle and expense to get to that show. That hassle and expense aren't the artist's responsibility. If you are willing to travel great distances and spend money on hotel stays and other expenses all centered around a single concert, that's a risk you're willingly taking on.
