  1. I'm sure he's as sick of people yelling "tear stained eye," as Jefff is "Gun," but damn if I don't love that song.
  2. i'm still trying to work out that conversation her and bill murray had at the end of "lost in translation." i don't know why but it seems really important that i know this.
  3. madmen , bummers, drummers and a teenage diplomat in the dumps with the mumps.

  5. My face is two over from Jeff's hand on the over the shoulder shot.
  6. I lurked going back to mid 2003 or so and was finally convinced to join by Heidi, Brianne, Dreamin' and others outside of a couple of shows at the 9:30 Club a few years back now. They said I would be instantly addicted, they were wrong, it took a little longer, but now I am definitely addicted. I check VC in the morning before my personal email or sports scores. I've lurked Springsteen and MMJ sites for years as well. I must've made a dozen or more new VC friends last week in Chiacago and damn if I don't miss everyone of you.
  7. Ellen Page's favorite music from a fan site: # Favorite music: New Young Pony Club, Cat Power, Bj
  8. I'll second the Radio King, especially the "your voice breaks every time" part. Also "Acuff Rose."
  9. Pat played some sweet blues-y solos on "Box Full of Letters," during the residency. He's very accomplished, but perhaps overshadowed by both Nels and Jeff.
  10. Wow this is a mini-VW blow up. they haven't played Richmond in 11 years, but if I was in the same boat as Charleston, I would understand it completely and totally. To me this is a non-issue, they rescheduled immediately, and its a major opportunity to promote an album that has already been out for quite awhile. As for their not sending out a personal statement that's ridiculous. The band themselves probably had little say in the matter and they have actually played for three nights in a row. I'm sure it will be acknowledged during the makeup show and they'll play 38 songs.
  11. Looks like the best post-residency set yet. I'm sure they'll continue to expand the sets as the tour goes on. Was I'm always In Love as rocking as at the Riv? It's nice to see Pick Up the change as well.
  12. remind me again did they win anything for fargo?
  13. I totally forgot to post this and this seems like the best place. After the last night I noticed a roadie walk out on stage with a drum head in hand. He walked to the middle of the stage and threw it up right in front of me. I reached for it and it sailed to the ground, where I reached down to pick it up. When I pulled it up closer for a lookover i realized that it was autographed in sharpie by all six members. What a great farewell gift for such a memorable week. I'll try to get a picture of it up someday soon.
  14. Looks like the Coens swept the big two. No complaints here.
  15. I think I saw something on High Road about summer availability for Wilco. Anyone else notice this?
  16. I'm sitting through this right now and its even worse than the Grammys though John Stewart is pretty great. Also I hope I'm not too much of a creep by saying that I'm attracted to someone that is 13 year younger than me, but Ellen Page sure is cute. looking forward to her introducing Wilco next week.
  17. They should honor all of those Charleston tix for anyone that can make it to SNL. But on the brighter side of things, if they've rescheduled for August 7th, that means they're gonna be in the south in August. There's hope for a Richmond show yet.
  18. I fully expected the Blisters to come out and jam out on that, but it was great nonetheless. here's hoping we hear it again before the next residency. Edie, I saw some a couple of good photos of us at the bar courtesy of Rick and Laurie. Seems like too long ago already, Greg
  19. Springsteen has made comments on a couple of occasions that there were more black people on hi stage than in his audience, that is to say one, though there were three for a brief period in '74-'75.
  20. i have no idea who's who, but one of those figures was sitting on top of Jeff's amp at the residency.
  21. I don't have it in front of me but it goes something like this: every dr dog song on we all belong, every dr dog song on easy beat, impossible germany and you don't know what love is you just do as your told by the white stripes
  22. This was a great, great show in a very small venue. It was a couple of days after a five year relationship came to an end and damn if it wasn't the best therapy ever. What a dream set list: "One By One," early "Less Than You Think (no drone)," "Bob Dylan's Beard," "Roses," "New Madrid," my first time hearing "Kicking TV," and "Theologians," plus loads of BT and AM gems, three encores (some of which were real Louie!). Anyone else around here at this one? 2003-05-01 Wilco The Orange Peel The Orange Peel home page Asheville, NC 1. One By One One By One lyrics @ bemydemon.org 2. Sunke
  23. Kim, just go ahead and send me a pm and tell me all you know.
  24. Yes they would make a brilliant DVD, but other than a few handheld recorders down front, I didn't see any filming from the stage. perhaps there was some out of my sight lines or in the balconies, but if they were planning on doing a DVD, there likely would've been multiple cameras every night.
