The 11/24/99 show at the Riv. was my 2nd Wilco show.

I was fortunate to get the Riv. and Vic shows, so I can't get too upset over it, I guess.

Same thing happen to me. Every time I tried to put the last letter in the key stroke wouldn't work. Refreshed a few times and it kept happening. Oh well.
  4. Really like the Bottle Rockets' cover. now playing:
  5. Especially the Federal penitentiaries --- country clubs.
  6. I think some managers have more impact than others. I am not a big fan of trading players for managers, either. That being said I am glad the Sox received some for Guillen. I'm pretty sure Zambrano is going to end up down there, too. However, I am not sure of the stipulations of Cubs/Zambrano's contract.
  7. I guess that make sense, for some reason I figured they all appeared one day on the Archive. I suspect the Archive grew over time... Plus, I was wrong about the 7/18/76 being released - 6/18/76 was released as a download.
  8. I guess the Dead released the July 18, 1976 show via the Download series they did a while ago. I have this show on my hard drive, but no linage folder. I am guessing my copy is from the download series. It is a good one. I have only 9 shows from 76, definitely an under represented year in my collection. Also, I am bit curious how you got involved in the Compendium books and the Archive...if you don't mind. I never bothered to find out the origins of how all the data/tapes ended up at Archive.org, it is an amazing achievement getting all those sources into one place.
  9. I think you work for the newspaper down there, right? If that is the case, you should be extremely happy is heading to Miami. For better or worse, he is going to fill up the sporting page. Of course, I think you were not thrilled about the deal, not necessarily about the hiring of Guillen.
  10. The above is a great read. I have not gone through it in a while (I don't own it, just check it my from library), but I think the advice is in that book, too.
  11. Metro it is. Friday Dec. 16th.
  12. It would be a hell of a challenge, why would a young guy like him not take it. Speaking of the Cubs (and to a lesser extent the Red Sox), anybody catch the ESPN documentary on Bartman? I thought it was well done. Moises Alou definitely would have caught the ball, but I think he still looked a complete dick/baby right after the play. The footage from within stands that ESPN showed was great and pretty scary. The bit with Buckner in the documentary was okay, there was definitely a Red Sox/Cubs similarity at the time, so I guess the whole scapegoat angle works.
  13. I remember reading that Hunter was disappointed that those songs did not get the full studio album treatment.
  14. Finally half way through. Show 11 - Olympia Theater, Paris (5.3.72) may be my favorite, thus far. Great Other One.
  15. I only caught the last two songs of Holy Sons in Chicago - they did sound good. The bass player played lap steel a few songs during the Jicks set in Chicago - did he do that in Boston. It sounded pretty good in the mix.
  16. I think it's going to be a great game tonight at Northwestern - I am suspecting an upset. Just wish I had the Big Ten Network... Well, this is why I don't gamble.
  17. Great show last night - they did play "Real Emotional Trash". The new drummer was decent, nice stage presence - he sang Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)then they went into Benny and the Jets for the encore - sloppy as all hell, but fun. Must admit I'm kinda sweet on Joanna Bolme. She's a hoot to watch.
  18. Well that's interesting - now I wonder who they are going to get - if anybody.
  19. It's interesting that they did not mention the Vic and Riv. shows which are after the Civic Opera House show. I am guessing he will do those shows, too.
