Parts of the Thorn in my Pride off of Croweolgy reminds me of an old J. Geils' song - of course I can't remember the name of the J. Geils' song.

Really liking the new one, too. Chris' vocals are great and the whole CD is mixed great. Both discs are great, but I think the 2nd one is slightly better. She has always been one of favorite Parsons' songs and Morning Songs and Downtown Money Waster are both particularly good. Now I am really, really looking forward to the Chicago show. My brother reminded me a few days ago that we saw the Crowes when they opened up for Aerosmith in 1990, which I completely forgot about. Also the Tall Tales interviews that are on their site with Chris a good; they are a lot different from his interviews th

I will be heading down there with my wife and kid. Looking forward to Escovedo, too. Here is the link to LouFest.

It is a great version. The clip states Crossroads and Don' Think Twice are up on YouTube, also. From Bob's Links - Summer 1999 Tour Guide

Bummer that Potato Creek didn't work out. Glad you found a hotel in town.

I have no problems with the backup singers, either.

I like the songs that Rich sings lead on the Cabin Fever DVD/CD, though those are the only songs I heard him sing lead on, I think.

My wife and I brought our kid. We relaxed in the grass during Yo La Tengo and when Wilco hit the stage we went in front of the sound board, where there there was plenty of room. I had my kid (10 months old) in a front carrier and he fell asleep by the fifth song or so. The Peltor earmuffs seemed to worked great. Is was fun watching his eyelids flutter a bit when they shined the lights on the audience. Right when they started to play "Thank You Friends", he woke up with a loud scream ---I don't think he likes 11pm curfews, either. As for the show, great as usual. Really glad that they played

It was For the Turnstiles (Neil Young Cover.)

Those interviews should be a hoot.

Tonight in South Bend, Yo La Tengo played a great version of For the Turnstiles and mentioned the passing of Keith.

I was thinking the same thing, yesterday. I did notice on another site that they are going to release a five-LP boxed set. I don't have a record player, so I think I will be passing. Should sound great, though.

Thanks for the link. Does sound great. Should sound even better once it is officially released.

Steve Earle & The Del McCoury Band - The Mountain
calvino replied to welch79's topic in Someone Else's Song
Train a Comin' is a great album. Also I Feel Alight and El Corazon. Hell pretty much everything he put out is great. The first time I heard El Corazon was at Lounge Ax waiting for Tweedy to perform a solo show. I got there early and they had the CD on. They played it twice. Christmas in Washington and Taneytown are two of my favorites of his. The biography, Hardcore Troubadour: The Life and Near Death of Steve Earle, is a great read. Del McCoury was not a fan of Earles foul language. -
who do you think needs to be remastered?
calvino replied to Synthesizer Patel's topic in Someone Else's Song
Of the recent re-issues of Dylan, I only bought the New Morning. I never own New Morning. The other three I own and are happy with them. The SACDs sound great, esp the ones that are in 5.1. -

I got that box set when it originally came out. I just purchased the remastered New Morning last weekend - the New Morning digipak fits in the box set carton (if I take one out). I paid a lot less the costs on the Amazon link. -
Here is the link to the original article that Jambands was quoting. I think Jambands was questioning the whole article. Regardless it was the Ottawa Citizen that was reporting that he was arrested in West Virginia, not Jambands. I realized this after I made an account (with jambands) to comment on article. D'oh!

George Steinbrenner in Critical Condition
calvino replied to remphish1's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
That's a bummer. Definitely a great character in baseball (for the better and worse). -
There is no mention of it in the Dennis McNally book.

Over at Bt.etree someone taped/uploaded the show from July 3, 2010 - High Sierra Music Festival. Great sounding tape and I think they played a hell of a show. I don't own the Three Snakes record so I am not familiar with (Only) Halfway to Everywhere - liked it alot.

It should have been Konerko.

I posted the below links in the Jazz section a while ago. Thirteen.org has episodes of the 60s/70s Soul program. Here is the Soul! Episode List, 1968-1973.

I didn't think it was since the guy said he found it an album jacket at yard sale. You would have thought the old guy would have known about the Leed's album. I sure it's a bit rare, but didn't they give the guy $200.00.

I saw that, didn't finish watching it though. Was it authentic?

performance at Glastonbury 2010. Got the link off of expectingrain. Nice performance of Waterloo Sunset and Days - dedicated to Pete.
