  1. We need to book camping, still. Definitely should to coordinate a meet-up. It will be the first back to back night " Dead" run for my wife and a buddy of ours - should be a hoot.
  2. Did you end up getting tickets for both nights - Winston? Again going in, I figured lawn tickets would be available for a bit after the initial on sale time --- it is still kind of amazing the draw of this latest incarnation. Not that I don't think they warrant it, per se - it just surprises me.
  3. Grabbed pavilion seats for Sat and Lawn for Fri at Alpine. I had pavilion seats in my Q for Friday, too - but tossed them back. Couldn't see spending the dough on those seats for both nights.
  4. I tried on Monday and only Lawn tickets were popping up - gonna wait until Friday and see if i can find pavilion seats. If I do pull pavilion seats probably will back down when I see the total price and settle for lawn.
  5. Having kids I think of the kid's tune 'Tiny Destroyer'.... Listening to Destroyer's Rubies now via Spotify - hopefully it erases the TIny Destroyer from my head.
  6. Yeah - I have Spotify, but I still like listening to them on CD at least for the 1st time. Regarding randomness - I guess that is why I not a big fan of the 30 Trips comp test, since it goes year to year. It is nice that the each of the 4 cds are broken up into various decades, for the most part. CD 3 (81-88) and CD 4 (89-95)
  7. Eh - I don't know - maybe a younger or newer older fan will enjoy it. I'll wait for my library system to get it and give it listen. I do like a good curated live anthology. Hopefully this will be one. I did get the 30 Days compilation - I don't listen to it too much, though. I don't think if flows real well and the sound of each song varies too much.
  8. We have few episodes left of season 2 of 'The Crown' --- I enjoy the history back stories way more than the relationship issues of Elizabeth and Philip. I would have banished Philip to some tower if I was Elizabeth... Though I did chuckle when Philip made a crack on Elizabeth's new hairdo.
  9. Yesterday was the biggest ever Chicago Women's March - Period!
  10. I read that there were more people yesterday than there was last year.
  11. My wife is heading to Chicago. We have about 30 or so representing our local group.
  12. Finally gotten around to watch the below - Cranston did a awesome job playing Johnson. Nice movie to watch during the current political climate.
  13. Guess we still young at heart - I still enjoy GA tickets when we have the opportunity. The stage at Thalia is at a decent height, too -- the few times I was there with my wife (who is on the short side) - she didn't have any issues seeing the stage. I have never sat up in the balcony, there, though. Glad the new record will be released prior to the tour.
  14. I am not much of a fan - but WXRT (Chicago radio station) simulcasted a Jack White concert -- I happen to have the radio on and really enjoyed it. Checked the date on it was on 7.23.2014 - sure didn't seem that long ago. Quite the set list. I did see a Raconteurs show at a Lolla - they were okay, but not memorable.
  15. No exact cause, yet - but death was not suspicious, according the BBC.
  16. Man - that sucks. Really enjoy the Cranberries.
  17. Yeah - I 'see' you over there every now and then - pretty informative site.
  18. Don't know where else to put it - i guess Wilco seen while on a different site - don't remember seeing the pic. before. The youngest one seems spectacle of Ronnie.....
  19. Great show by St. Vincent last night -- the whole concept worked great. Canned music - yet it seem pretty spontaneous. The whole production was done very well. Was not expecting it - but the opener - the married jazz duo Tuck & Patti were equally great. I heard that there was movie played prior to the show - I guess Annie decided to change things up this leg and I am glad she did - they were both incredibly sweet when talking about Annie and themselves -- they have been playing together for close to 40 years --- Patti said once you get past the 1st 15 years it all great -- you just got
  20. ^ That's good -- I don't think CRB ever sold out there before - at least both times that I saw them there were not sold out.
  21. Had the Kavalier & Clay book sitting on my shelf forever - need to read it.
  22. Must admit - the Magpie shows I heard didn't do much for me, either -- guessing Chris's new band won't either. Much prefer the brothers just doing their own solo things. Though I understand why they are doing it - guessing they get a better draw playing Crowes tunes. Also, it is nice that Ford is back playing with Rich and it's too bad that Eddie passed away.
  23. He playing a Thalia, which is great - but probably will still pass. Much rather see CRB. Esp since the tickets are a more than CRB.
